Whoops, guess I could've looked at the date. The WA Holden concept dates to '73- the car was slated for release in 1978. This was the final design for the WA sedan, which would have been the new generation of Holden Kingswood. Here is what the Kingswood turned out to be in 1978.

Wayne Kady is perhaps one of the automotive world's most prolific "unknown" designers. For almost four decades, Kady would design multiple vehicles under GM, including the '71 Cadillac Eldorado and '74 Buick Riviera, as well as the '92 Roadmaster and Skylark- both quite polarizing designs. His sketches remain a glimpse of 60's American motoring prowess- long, wide, elegant, and low to the ground. This is a concept for an early 70's Cadillac, illustrated in watercolor.

Date unknown, these two renderings by Chris Emmerson are ideas for what would have been the 'WA' series of large family cars by Holden. The car was never produced, being cancelled in 1974- saving General Motors $80m. A few clay mockups were all that came to fruition. These have been preserved by the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology design school.

I recently came across an archive of old automotive design concept art pieces. They were COOKING

Gold-and-orange watercolor(?) and ink illustration of what would become the ZC generation (Australian, 1969-1970) Ford Fairlane's dashboard. Developed by Brian Rossi, Jack Telnack and John Doughty.

Dated 10th March, 1967, this is GM designer John Perkins’ stunning proposal for the rear end of the 1969 Pontiac GTO, featuring Pontiac’s body coloured flexible “Endura” bumper bar. (sic, club.shannons.com.au)

In the late 1970s, Tom Matano was working in Holden’s design studios, where one of his projects was an “aero” Commodore, above. From Holden he went to BMW and, later, Mazda. As chief designer at Mazda his resume included the RX-7 and MX-5. (sic club.shannons.com.au)
