I just think it’s adorable that they’ve turned him into one of those concrete porch geese and every month they’re going to trot out a new picture of him in a new little season-appropriate outfit smiling in the exact same wax museum pose.
Birthday Monday! Upper body strength day. Great workout and a little embarrassing to have my bday celebrated there.
Saturday! Full Body Strength & Conditioning. All good, and definitely helped work out the soreness from leg day Thursday. Confession, I’m not sad at all that I skipped body weight conditioning yesterday. 😇
Thursday - Lower Body Strength day. Walked into the gym angry and frustrated (work shit) and left it in a puddle of sweat, new RDL PR and unfortunately a tight lower back because of a bit of bad form on aforementioned RDLs. The finisher today was murder - wish I’d left a bit in the tank for that.
Back on my bullshit today after about 3 weeks of travel. Last recorded sessions I had at the gym were 6/22 and 6/24. But I stayed plenty active on vacation. Full body strength day today and was feeling pretty good except a little balk from my right shoulder in shoulder presses.
On the recommendation of our guide, those 4 filets were quickly iced and driven down the road to Keen Kow Thai in Ninilchil and Ms. Nina was happy to “surprise us with some good dinner options to go.” Fantastic yellow curry poached and teriyaki tempura-fried salmon.
On the positive side, Alaska has been amazing. Did a 6 hour drift boat fishing excursion on the Kasilof River today and while the sockeye salmon weren’t exactly surging in a run today, we didn’t get completely skunked. I got 2 good sized sockeye.
Picking up metal roofing for our chicken coop build, and the metal dealer is not here for any shenanigans.
Monday. Might as well get after it. Full Body Strength! Partner format, one rotating on a station for 12 reps while the other reps out a body weight exercise. So many speed squats and pushups and bicycle abs crunches. I’m tired. But a good start to the week.
Saturday! What better day to limber up before finishing a chicken coop build in 900 deg weather than Athletic Conditioning?! Sweat city.
Friday! Leg day. Great workout! Weighted wall sits still make me wanna cry like a little baby, but other than that, all good.
Wednesday - Full Body Strength protocol. Really good workout today and I felt like I had good energy and no joint issues throughout. I still hate ab roller wheels, but got through them. Between those and the weighted sit ups, I’m sure my core will be sore.
Monday! Upper body strength day. Good workout. No real issues with elbow or shoulders. I’ll take it!
Did race car shit again today. Didn’t wreck. Made our first runs of the day in a downpour. Flash floods all around us, including washing out the hillclimb road about a mile past the finish line. Nearly sweat to death later in the day once the sun came out.
That thing where I’m casually scrolling adoptable pups and my wife remarks “that’s my favorite kind of dog… ever.” Uhhhh. Dangerously tempting.
Friday! Body Weight Conditioning! Still my least favorite protocol, but I was optimistic about today. Until I pinched a nerve in my hip trying to brace myself from falling back from a wall handstand. Rest of the workout was misery and modification. But I stayed with it til the end.
Thursday! Push / Pull! Man, what a great workout today. I was traveling for the last 2 days and thought it might be hard to get back into it. Nope, felt strong and well rested and my elbow didn’t bother me too much. Set a new PR for dumbbell chest press, and went heavy and consistent throughout.
