The new Descendants movie has a character named Hazel Hook - the daughter of Captain Hook - and she just...holds a hook. It's so amazingly stupid..
Hosting a fun screening this Friday at Catamount Arts in St. Johnsbury, VT. Really looking forward to this one...
Well, my podcast "Chronologically" launches into the world of Star Trek tomorrow, as we go through all of the Star Trek films in order. As a bonus, I'm taking my pod-partner Jeff through a bunch of episodes in between films as a sort of "Star Trek 101" to give the films greater context.
As the dad of a 13-year-old, I have to watch a lot of bad teen shows. So I am coming from a place of confidence and hideous experience when I say that the Elle/Legally Blonde show on Prime is actually pretty good.
I'm seeing all sorts of negative press about Supergirl's box office numbers a week before the film arrives. I can't stand all that negative nonsense. I'm really, really looking forward to the film. The graphic novel was awesome.
Rick Springfield was 32 years old in 1981. If Jessie's girl were slightly younger than him, she would now be 75 years old. Suck on that one, fellow Generation Xers.
Hosting a screening of The Others tonight at Catamount Arts in St Johnsbury, VT. Because that's a thing I do.
Currently reading The Gales of November by John U. Bacon. As someone that grew up in Toledo, I remember seeing a lot of these ships sitting in the harbor downtown. This book is absolutely fascinating.
I've been playing Crimson Desert for two weeks. Now that the embargo is over, I can tell you that it's one of the best open world games I've ever played. Simply stellar.
Star Trek Discovery had its and downs for sure, but there was no denying that Tilly is awesome.
Y'all. Star Trek: Hogwarts is excellent. And these two are super cute together. More please.
@shudder.com Heads up that this happened...no sweat for me, as I already own a LNWTD 4k import, but some folks might be less delighted by this substitution. To me, it's a huge bonus!
Yes, Superman. But not enough love is given historically to Batman & Superman: Battle of the Super Sons.
Came downstairs to find my twelve-year-old rocking a Spacehog shirt. Beyond the obvious fact that she has no idea who Spacehog is, where the HELL did she even find this shirt?
Damn, I know everything sucks right now, but these Selena Gomez Oreos are THE SHIT!!!
Why is David Bowie hanging out with Heat Miser's weird melty sisters?
"So you see, sir, when the Emperor realized that the Galactic Senate no longer had the votes to oppose him, and the judiciary was in his pocket due to the Senate's previous dereliction of duty, he was able to seize complete control over the Galactic government...
The Gaming Nexus pinball score battle rages on... (That's me. I'm winning.)
On our film podcast, @jqueasy.bsky.social and I just kinda plug along, not really paying attention to numbers or metrics. But it's hard to miss the little pop of extra listeners we've gotten over the last week or so. Interestingly, a lot of it seems to be coming from our earlier seasons.
Showed The Fly (1986) last night at the local arts theater. Ludicrously fun to watch with a reactive crowd. Cronenberg for the win.
