On holiday in Pembrokeshire and in Pelcomb, close to where I am staying, is this small memorial stone. Pte Thomas Collins, 2nd Battalion, 24th Foot enlisted in 1877 at age 16 (claiming to be 22). He is thought to be the youngest defender of Rorke’s Drift at age 17. (Apols for photo quality)
In Milford Haven this afternoon and Eric and I were originally drawn in by the delicious ice cream, but when we looked closer we realised what a brilliant project The Dizzy Bear is. megansstarr.com/the-dizzy-bear
@gardenstuff.bsky.social so pleased to see so many Red Admiral in the hedges round my friend’s house in St Davids. Will try and get video later
Eric is getting his essentials ready for a trip to the seaside next week 🌊😊
@csav55.eurosky.social Here’s one for you. He’s making this speech here at The People’s History Museum. Not sure a coup aligns ….
Ooh the emblem of our hotel in Trier was frogs!! They even had them painted on the sink plugs 🤣
The boys share their last glass of wine in Germany 😢. Off for a long sleep in the suitcase now till we get home tomorrow night!
This morning we left Luxembourg- we really did enjoy it there. Now in Trier, Germany for few days. The Riesling is so cheap I think we will enjoy this too 🤭
Today my friend and I caught the bus out to pay our respects at the Luxembourg American Cemetery & Memorial. An absolutely beautiful and moving resting place for the 5,000 American Military who lost their lives
Thank you! The peonies have opened up now and really are quite stunning. Looking forward to yr update 😊
Not many shrubs flowering at the moment but the Sambucus and Pyracantha are doing exceptionally well this year.
I saw this at the Home Front Museum in Llandudno a couple of years ago. (Its a great little Museum btw)
Climbing hydrangea here but mine’s a bit « fluffier » I think so you are prob right 😊
@gardenstuff.bsky.social A couple of years ago I put a plum tree in a pot. Last year it had about 6 plums - this year it has done very well BUT a fat wood pigeon landed on the leading branch and broke it. Hence naff netting over it 🙄 #Gardenstuff
He told us it was the best job in politics and he would see out his term. No we are not happy. The Manchester Evening News also summed our feeling up back in January.
Not long now till Eric earns another badge. Hope you are all ready for Sunday team 😊🤣 #mountaineeringbears
My front garden smells incredibly fragrant this morning ! #gardenstuff
