FYI, a century ago, an image of then-President Calvin Coolidge appeared on a coin to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. So this is not entirely new.
A sitting US president will be on a U.S. coin thanks to Treasury Department. (Added along with the image already on the side of the entrance to the Justice Department)

Air quality is much better now in DC that the fireworks smoke has largely cleared. Still "poor" but not "unhealthy" as it was this morning
My friend Tim came over last night for a neighborhood barbecue and he brought a special what you might call a true"mocktail." But this one did have alcohol. You could pick gin or vodka.
Some of the worst numbers are concentrated around the National Mall. It's almost like they built a coal burning power plant down there or something. Then the wind is blowing very slowly northwest this morning, thus the sky-high numbers in my neighborhood.

A real American parade. In a real DC neighborhood. People of all nationalities, orientations and political perspectives. Celebrating a national experience. This does still exists in America. And it's nice to celebrate it. Even in 100° heat. Happy 250th.
Morning bike ride reminds me there is much to celebrate in this nation, with so many spots of such incredible beauty, including Bear Island along the Potomac River near Great Falls just outside DC.
This sales pitch from Donald Trump sent out three days before he was sworn in to his second term has ended up being disastrously bad financial advice for most of the buyers. Only a small set of traders who moved fast to buy the coin, then quickly dumped it made $$. Almost everyone else lost bigly
