Had a wonderful time visiting the Elgin-Middlesex-London PLA, chatting seniors support, homelessness, and rent control. I also had the chance to walk around downtown St. Thomas. I was not fully aware of your public art game, but I LOVE IT!

As you get older in Ontario, it feels like you have two options: try to stay in your own home for as long as possible, or move into long-term care. What if there were more? I believe in empowering solutions like seniors co-housing, so that they can age with grace:

I had an in-depth interview with @sudburystar.bsky.social. In it, I outline my ambitious agenda for Ontario’s north. This includes transport, Ring of Fire, municipal governance, addictions and homelessness, and my belief in creating a liberal politics that can be successful through the 2030s.

I ended the day at Science North speaking with Sudbury Liberals about my journey into politics, the need to reindustrialize Ontario, and how we restore the promise of this province for the next generation. Ontario Can Still Win is a real vision for our politics, our economy, and the 2030s!

Maison McCulloch is Ontario’s largest hospice, which cares for those with <3 months to live. Julie and Ashley showed me a beautiful facility providing end of life dignity. But after 6 years of frozen provincial operating funding, it has become reliant on private support. We have to change that.

At ILSM, I spoke with those living with a disability. We need to raise ODSP supports, simplify access to programs, make accessibility part of building codes, and make public spaces easier to navigate. I also met Angela Grey, a hero who runs the centre almost entirely on private funding.

This week, I was in Sudbury. I met with disability advocates at Independent Living Sudbury Manitoulin, visited Maison McCulloch Hospice, and ended the day at Science North speaking with local Liberals about how Ontario can still win.

It's time to take Electoral Reform seriously. We need a democracy where leaders are accountable to every citizen – one where every vote actually leads to more local representation. But I want to go even further in restoring our democratic culture:

Walking farther through downtown, I could also see both its challenges and its enormous potential. Retail is struggling, as it is in many communities across Ontario. Some buildings and public spaces clearly need investment.

People here are rightly proud of that contribution. But there is also understandable frustration that communities producing so much wealth for the province have not always received enough investment and attention in return.

It feels very different from much of the public art I see in Toronto, where there is, among other things, a bronze horse leg coming out of the ground near me.

You can see that identity reflected in the public art. The murals celebrate gold mining and the people who built the town. Other installations celebrate a welder, an electrical worker, surgeons, the arrival of an MRI, the community centre, the pool. This is art about history, work and community.

Last night I visited Liberals in Kirkland Lake. The conversation was wonderful. I learned a great deal about what the community needs and came away with several ideas to add to my platform. I had some time at twilight to walk through the town centre. Let me explain why I find it so special. 👇

I visited downtown London recently and the amount of people struggling with mental health and drug addictions was staggering. It's completely unacceptable that our leaders have allowed this to happen. We have failed so many people.

Families and communities across Northwest Ontario are being forced from their homes as wildfires spread. Our thoughts are with everyone affected, especially the First Nations communities on the front lines, and with the firefighters and first responders working around the clock to keep people safe.

Ontario’s economy has lost its edge. Productivity has stagnated, wages have fallen behind, and the cost of living has kept rising. Uncertainty from America has only made these challenges harder. If we want to build a more competitive economy, we have to do the hard work of reform:

It was fantastic to join Carleton PLA on Saturday morning in Manotick for a wide-ranging discussion on the future of Ontario. It was incredible to see the engagement on issues, the desire for substance, and the optimism behind our common belief that Ontario Can Still Win!

Ford has pushed through a takeover of Billy Bishop with 0 transparency. Maybe the airport should be expanded. Maybe it should stay how it is now. Maybe it should be closed and turned into parkland. The truth is, we cannot know, because the gov't has refused to show its work.

Last night, I celebrated Pride with the Toronto Centre PLA, with a fantastic reception hosted by Kathleen Wynne, a trailblazer for our community. Always lovely to bump into the wonderful Kathryn McGarry and MP Anthony Housefather too.
