But for as great as the Nuggets have been this season, the Wolves have depth to go against Jokic in a way no other team does with Rudy Gobert, Julius Randle, Naz Reid and help defenders like Jaden McDaniels and Ant. It’s not that I don’t believe in the Nuggets, it’s that they landed in the worst possible matchup.

The Wolves have been struggling all season. But the gap between the regular season and the playoffs has never been wider. I believe that the playoffs are going to be different. If I’m wrong, I’ll be jumping on the Jokic bandwagon for Ring No. 2.

Suns star guard Devin Booker played in only one of the three games, a 127-110 Suns win in Portland in November, a game in which Holiday and Henderson did not play. And in the only Blazers win, Portland’s star Deni Avdija played a total of 59 seconds before leaving with a back injury against a depleted Suns group missing Booker, Dillon Brooks and Grayson Allen, that only managed 77 points.

Murray is right about the shooters. The way Phoenix plays has also worked very well against Portland’s drop-heavy pick-and-roll defense, which often dares opposing guards to take pull-up 3-pointers, due to their preference to have Donovan Clingan protect the rim and hang back in the pick-and-roll. The Suns have multiple players comfortable pulling up off the dribble, which has been a bit of a weakness for the Blazers.
