The town in my WIP cosmic horror novel--Jeffry, California--is a fictionalized version of Clayton, CA, nestled in a cleft of Mount Diablo, and where I grew up. I'm placing Jeffry to the northeast of Clayton, on the ruins of the Nortonville ghost town--a remnant of the defunct Black Diamond Mines.
