I can tell our video is doing the rounds when others start advertising cis voices down in the comments! /jk I do get the desire to share videos that are doing super well, but it does kinda suck to be othered from our own lived experiences when we've covered all the same information.

The first comment reads: "Have you seen or made a video about "Debunking Transphobia". It's a great video. Pretty long at almost 5 hours, but really thorough in the research into where a lot of the transphobia has come from.

Also less than 1% of the population who may or may not choose or want to have their own biological kids is hardly going to end civilization. In fact, the opposite is probably more true, that all the people having so many kids will be the end of all life on this planet. And when things get really bad and resources such as food and water are scarce, I don't think even the super wealthy people in their bunkers will be safe."

To which EoT replied:

"I started, but realized that it's the same stuff I've been covering for years, and felt kinda depressed. Yes, I'm glad the information is getting out there, but why is it cis people's videos who are launched into the hundreds of thousands if not millions of views for repeating what we've been saying for years? And why do people feel the need to advertise their videos on our channels and not our videos on their channels? It took me 5 years to claw myself back to a place where I could afford HRT.

No shade at cis allies for getting this information out to a wider audience, I just wish people were willing to offer the same support to those of us fighting on the frontlines."

Just your typical Essence of Thought hater. I still don't understand how someone can be so proud of refusing to even look at the evidence. I tried to hold a conversation with this person after they threw out multiple accusations and I think it's really telling of the hate we receive in general.

Before the 'do cops belong at Pride?' discourse starts up again, I need to remind people that the British Transport Police openly declared their intent to force trans women to be searched by male officers after the Supreme Court ruling. This was BEFORE any institution had issued 'guidance'. [1/2]

3. The right to sexual and reproductive health,

7. The right to dignity, bodily integrity, and bodily autonomy of the person.

Just a reminder that, if you're watching a trans person's video about a certain trans topic and feel the urge to advertise a cis person's video about the same topic, please don't. It feels shitty to effectively be made a secondary voice within your own community and/or on your own platform.

"Hey, I just wanted to ask that, if you're watching a trans person's video about a certain trans topic and feel the urge to advertise a cis person's video about the same topic, please don't.

We've been receiving a lot of this on our recent video about Lily Cade, the Cotton Ceiling, and the BBC. Fact is, this isn't the first time we've covered that topic, we also covered it when the story was fresh, only to be passed over at the time, seemingly because most viewers would rather listen to a cis person talking about trans people than trans people advocating for themselves.

It just sucks to be constantly reminded that trans voices are secondary, not only within topics that impact our lives but on the very platforms we spend years building. It's particularly frustrating as it's become increasingly difficult to make ends meet due to shrinking support on Patreon, yet apparently it's the cis YouTuber with 738K subscribers and 5,853 members on Patreon who needs boosting? (For comparison, we currently have 61 paid Patrons.)

I’m not upset at the cis person who made these particular videos or any cis person who has spoken up for trans rights (we need all the support we can get), I just want to request that others stop seeing trans platforms as a place to advertise well-off cis people. - Ethel"

As noted in today's video, we reached out to Trans Kids Deserve Better about an incident in which the kids setting up an encampment outside Wes Streeting's office were abused, and TKDB just sent me the following statement regarding the incident which has now been added to the updates.

The following statement about abuse at the encampment was given to us by a TKDB member:

"We received a barrage of abuse from two drunken members of the public. They used derogatory language and intimidation attempts, getting close to where kids were sleeping, speaking loudly and taking a while to cooperate with adult supporters and older kids who tried to get them to one side to have a conversation. They stayed for several hours, varying their volume and switching between abuse, attempting to understand and then back to abuse. At one point I had to lay in front of a younger child so the person didn't come closer and cover his ears so he didn't listen to them calling us names. We believe a supporter's cane was taken as it disappeared after the two finally left, and as far as I understand another supporter's thermal blanket got ripped. I didn't recognise either of the people, I believe they were locals who just happened to be out and saw us."

This is 99% of the abuse I receive: Someone spreading dishonest rumours about me regarding shit they don't know the basic facts about, only for a quick account check to reveal that they're likely mad at me for critiquing their fave at one point and have thus taken to promoting such lies.

Try Rude stated: "Don't even bother using your lack of proper diction to lie about it. It was about her being trans. Because that's all you see her as. Rachel is transfemme and you're targeting them for that."

To which EoT replied:
