If you're watching the news, you see daily reasons we need to replace the 119th Congress. Have you talked to your friends who don't usually vote? In SC ask them to vote June 9 for Eunice Lehmacher: www.euniceforsc.com This is Rep. Justin Jones in TN after the swift redistricting there.
Our leaders should carry out the will of the people — not seize power and rule. The Court has once again betrayed us, destroying the Voting Rights Act. Handing politicians the power to prevent Black and brown people's votes from counting gives power to billionaire backers.
Heading to Greenville to participate in the 5 day solidarity fast to bring attention to children in detention. Can you join us in downtown Greenville this week?
Eunice Newton Fotte discovered the greenhouse effect in 1856. Before Tyndall. Let’s have more women leaders!
During Trump's speech to the nation on April 1, U.S. stock futures plummeted, erasing about $550B in 25 min. On April 2, 40 nations, discussed ways in which they could work to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. was not invited. Why do most U.S. Congresswomen and men continue to support him?
The day before many Christians are celebrating the peaceful march of the Jesus into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday (the same day Pontius Pilot was coming in the other side of Jerusalem with an army), thousands of Americans marched and protested for peace. Some with palms...in towns ICE also marches.
I’m on the ballot! I filed for office on Wednesday. Lots of other candidates were in Columbia Wednesday. I especially enjoyed seeing one of my Emerge sisters filing that morning. Let’s elect more women!!
The new skate park in Clemson is the sort of public private partnership that makes our communities better. I’m for more places for young adults to engage with each other and enjoy the outdoors. Third Spaces, as they can be called, are need as options for virtual connections are increasing.
"....if you... see the administration as the drunk driver, more and more people are getting out of the car, or trying to turn it around (and take the keys away). Congress could do it... " R. Solnit Why isn't Representative Sheri Biggs getting out of the car.... She should know better!
On a cold and gloomy day this dried flower bouquet from Farm Girl Deliveries is giving me joy. I love the colors, beauty of the flowers and the farmers I know from Six Mile. It reminds me of their farm and the many fresh vegetables I get from them every summer. What gives you joy in dark times?
When Eunice told me she is going to challenge Sheri Biggs, I was pleased but not surprised. That’s what Eunice does. She courageously steps up for her community and nation. I know her and I trust her to be an unwavering voice of reason and fight for our values while putting the people of SC first.
Did you know 41 of the 46 counties in South Carolina are designated as health care professional shortage areas? As a psychotherapist myself, I can confirm that there aren't enough therapists to meet the demand in SC and around the country.
The essential ingredient of all struggles for justice are human beings who, if only for a moment, if only while beset with fears, step out of line and do SOMETHING, however small. And even the smallest, most unheroic of acts adds to the store of kindling that may be ignited...into change. H. Zinn

The Big B Bill allocated 45 billion to increase detention capacity. That's more than enough money to fund the entire school lunch program or the entire Childrens Insurance Health Program (CHIP) or all of the Section 8 Housing vouchers. I prefer food, health and homes to more jails.
