Ward 14 is shaping up to be a real nothing-burger of a race, assuming we get a last minute Fletcher registration. The only seemingly credible challenger is running as a soft-NIMBY at best.
no amount of self-selection bias can explain away a result of 87% opposed on an n=87,000 sample size as a "fringe group" cope, seethe, etc

It’s the shameless heel turning that makes the whole thing so pathetic. Literally doesn’t even delete his old pro-bike lane posts. Keep pretending you weren’t that guy, Brad!
Toronto urbanism/city planning doomers to Jason Thorne after the new Ookwemin Minising plan drops
someone in the parks dept absolutely dodge rammed their way through withrow park last weekend
hilarious (derogatory) for Danielle Smith to now push a set of gross anti-immigration referendum questions when just a few years back we had to see this shit on the TTC for an entire summer
I take it all back, maybe it’s actually good that millennials can’t afford homes
Somewhere in here would be my recc, closer to Bloor if you need quick transit, but most of the main streets here have streetcars as well.
I do find it amusing that the proposed idea is basically "let's do DEI, but for conservative/anti-woke academics only"
Glad to see that a person being needlessly maimed and/or killed by a motor vehicle doesn't shock the conscience of the Editorial Board. No conscience needed if you just ignore the death part and keep pretending this is nothing more than a debate about "who the streets are for".
Breathtaking how weak this argument about purpose is. Claiming bike lane removals weren't arbitrary because the bill wasn't about fixing congestion, it was about "giving drivers priority"? Strange how they constantly tied bike lanes to gridlock and their removal to "getting drivers moving" then!
The Editorial Board believes Mr. Ford's purpose for Bill 212 was "to give car drivers the priority" and had nothing to do with congestion. It's just about who roads are for! That's of course why it was called the Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time Act.
here's an exciting idea: a new, lower tier of humanity reserved just for cyclists women, drug users, sex workers, cyclists, one of these things is not like the other!
Stop theorizing the fictional American political leanings of Canadian provinces, it's meaningless and absurd. MAGA's fantasies of "obtaining" provinces would result in nothing but strife and destruction for both countries and likely civil war within the United States itself.

The scale of this 2050 plan is truly immense. Ontario gov’t is fully nuclear pilled. To pull it off will require: - Brand new station in Port Hope with 8 units - Expanding Bruce with 4 new units (12 total at the site) - Refurbishing most of the existing fleet (some of that is already underway)
