putting one foot in front of the other is the best I can do right now
Vik Muniz is great; my current fave subway art though is the Nick Cave ones. Times Square shuttle station, more than one location.
I can donate a handbound blank journal; I have a bunch in stock that I made just for fun. Tell me which of these (if any) you want, and where to send 'em.
My kid and her girlfriend planted milkweed alongside our rented house and observing the lil guys is such a pleasure! Currently: 5 chrysalises, 7 inch-long caterpillars and one (that I'm aware of) that's maybe 3/16 of an inch long. This is from last summer:
Has your wife read this book ? 400 pages about the history of the pencil (yes, including Ticonderogas!). You can read it for free on the Internet Archive, too. I saw it at the library and started reading it kind of as a joke but it turned out to be fascinating.
The GOAT Kate Beaton is on it! From the Hark a Vagrant archive www.harkavagrant.com/index.php?id...
Such a good book about the history of white Americans happily enshittifying their own lives just to prevent having to share anything good with people who aren't white
But this one... make sure he can turn his attention away from that model and focus on what you are saying to him.
Leftwing politics has never had a good track record of treating women as fully human, tbh. The women's movement in the US in the 60's came out of that.
If you're traveling by subway, the Times Square Station has the most amazing mosiacs of Nick Cave's art; I route through there every time I'm in NYC just to marvel at them.
Sitting in front of my house with the candle my step-sister made for me. It's a suburb, so nobody came by, but it was good anyway. Rest in peace, Alex Pretti, may your memory be a blessing
Ooh! Strong markets and stable trade! What about: not shot in the face by masked ICE agents when we're dropping our kids off to school? Or: no old men yanked out of the homes in the snow in their underwear? Or: no masked ICE agents pepper-spraying us in the face while handcuffed on the ground?
