Early #mushroommonday post from the PNW of a lovely Shaggy main ready 2 b harvested & eaten. Just don't do it if you've ingested alcohol bc it holds the molecule that is used in anti-alcohol meds & will make U sick if you eat it within 24 hrs of consuming alcohol. If you haven't had a drink, enjoy.
We have a rare beauty in these parts (who doesn't !?). Behold the Kellog Lily. Not only are they beautiful but they have a wonderful sweet fragrance and the butterflies love them.
This color columbine magically appeared in the yard last year. I waited patiently this year, but all I have is this pic.

I'm in coastal NorCal, and they live here in abudance! Pic is of a youngin' our neighbors dog treed a couple of years ago. They mostly eat deer, but the youngins don't always know that.

For this Memorial Day, along with honoring our service members who gave their lives, my community celebrates with a wild, human powered Kinetic race of 42 miles and 3 days. I was fortunate enough to be on the HAM radio team so got to see some of the sculptures getting ready to cross the river. Fun!

#mushroommonday When I first moved in, these huge mushrooms kept popping up in my backyard and I was fascinated. Joined the local club a few years later only to discover how many Boletus edulis (Porcini) I had missed!
