18 years ago today, I was attuned to the Reiki Master/Teacher level by my friend, the late Eddy Gutiérrez. This was an evolutionary step in my journey to understand spiritual and magical energy. It has made me a better person and a stronger witch. I am forever grateful for the experience. 🙏

I really loved this book. While The Witch’s Name might sound like it’s simply about choosing a magical name, it’s actually about something much deeper: discovering and shaping your magical identity, with the name acting as the focal point of that process. Storm Faerywolf approaches the subject with a lot of thoughtfulness and care. Instead of presenting magical names as something you just pick from a list, he guides the reader through meditations, journaling prompts, rituals, and exercises that help uncover the myths, symbols, and spiritual influences that shape your path as a witch. By the time a name begins to emerge, it feels meaningful and authentic because it grows out of that exploration. If you read the original Llewellyn edition, this revised and expanded version is absolutely worth picking up. The earlier book was already a great exploration of magical naming, but this new edition feels more complete and more refined. The added material, including sections on naming covens and familiars, broadens the conversation and makes the book feel less like a single exercise and more like a guide to building a magical identity within a wider spiritual practice. I also appreciated how grounded and approachable Faerywolf’s writing is. The practices are thoughtful without feeling overwhelming, and the tone feels like guidance from an experienced teacher who has spent many years working within the craft. The foreword by Mat Auryn is a great addition and sets the stage nicely for the deeper exploration that follows.
