Mozi, c. 470–391 BCE — universal love and the discipline of utility
You would have been a Mohist — a follower of Mozi (c. 470–391 BCE), founder of one of the great schools of the Hundred Schools period. You believed in universal love (jian ai) — impartial concern for everyone, against the Confucian gradation of moral concern by relationship. You opposed offensive war (and Mohists were famous for sending fortification experts to help besieged states), supported meritocracy against hereditary privilege, advocated frugality against aristocratic display, opposed elaborate funerals and music, and believed in Heaven as a moral force that rewards and punishes. The Mohists were organized like a religious-military order under a grand master (juzi). After the Han dynasty the school disappeared as a coherent movement and was only rediscovered in the late Qing. One of the results of today's calligraphy session, a 南無阿彌陀佛 but because I miscalculated how big my characters were the 佛 is missing. Also I really need to do more training again, my brush control is largely abysmal.
