Small update: Platner's choice to run in his place, State Rep Valli Geiger, will not run.
Side note: I guess it's good to know you don't need to have a history of good thought to become the dean of a school.
For those wondering how quickly Lindsey Graham's vacancy can be filled, the answer is however long it takes SC Governor Henry McMaster to decide.
With the increased ICE abductions and murders I figured I'd check and see what No Kings has on the docket and...let's just say their 'What's Next' page is less than motivating.
Remember, when the options are standing up for your convictions or apologizing for failing to meet your claimed morals, there is always a third option: aggrieved whining.
Already seeing Platner defenders saying 'has he been convicted?' and I'll just let this giant quote from RAINN do the talking on that.
The door was unlocked. He entered without permission. Also, find some basic shame.
This quote should lead to nothing but a complete abandonment of Platner. And note everyone who continues to stand by him even after this.
I know this sounds scary, but take heart in the fact that if Tucker Carlson is serious about starting a new political party he will have just the worst time of his life for months on end.
Which vote was this for? Can you link to the roll call for it? The only one I can recall from today that was somewhat related was for H Res 1398, but the 14 GOP nays were protest votes due to Congress not having passed the SAVE America Act yet.
22 Dems vote against H Con Res 108, a resolution to exercise Congressional war powers to remove US troops from Lebanon. Notably, ending attacks on Lebanon is a key demand from Iran to end the war there and I guarantee those 22 Dems know that. The resolution failed 189-235.
At least 104 Democrats vote yea to pass HR 7757. The bill passes 267-117. It now moves to the Senate, which is out until July 13th. Will post the roll call of who voted what way once it is uploaded.
And with 143 outstanding vote, HR 7757 passes. Now just a wait to see by how many. Also good to remember this needs to pass the Senate before it becomes law. The Senate is also out until July 13th, so plenty of time to call and fight this.
And finally, we have H Res 1383, a resolution commemorating the 1st anniversary of the Trump Working Families Tax Cuts. I normally would just ignore a resolution like this, but towards the end the resolution celebrates that the cuts helped fund Customs & Border Patrol as well as the border wall.
And finally, there is Sec 7067(e), which would ban State Department funds from being given to any program that "promotes transgenderism" as defined by Trump Executive Order 14187.
Sec 1221-23 (Subtitle C) extends the war reserve stockpile authority for Israel, the US-Israel Anti-Tunnel Coordination program (and amends anti-tunnel to now be subterranean), & the US-Israel Counter-Drone program until 2029.
Sec. 219 would establish the US-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative to synchronize "cooperative efforts between the United States and Israel, to expand and accelerate bilateral defense technology research, development, testing, evaluation, integration, and industrial cooperation..."
Frankly, this is a five-alarm fire type of bill. This bill will destroy free speech online and surrender our rights to Trump on a silver platter. Reps have left DC for the week, but their offices should be open for another ~20 minutes. Call today if you can and/or first thing Monday morning.
Probably safe to say that my hiatus is done and I am a combination of these two pictures.
Adam Gray (CA) and Tom Suozzi (NY) are mentioned as members of this initiative earlier in the article. This is also a pretty solid list of elected Democrats who are the most likely to vote yea for bills that support Donald Trump's agenda.
Today Jeanne Shaheen (NH) voted yea to confirm George Holding to be the US Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Yesterday Shaheen and Tim Kaine (VA) also voted yea to confirm anti-LGBTQ bigot Michelle Steel as Ambassador to South Korea.
2024 PSL Vice President nominee Karina Garcia also gave validation to the doxxing of a victim because the accuser had a Tinder account. Much comrade. Such wow.
If you have any friends, family, or followers in California, today is the day to spread this far and wide. We have a chance to ensure 5 fascist Democrats no longer have the power to give Trump the gift of their cowardice.
Today are the California primaries & the last push to remove 5 Trump friendly Dems. Of those 5 is Adam Gray, the 4th most reliable Trump voter in the Dem caucus. He voted yea for the Laken Riley Act, yea for five anti-trans amendments, and nay to impeach Trump twice. Today, Adam Gray has to go.
