Finished with the most complex art project I've ever undertaken. I finally have a proper reference and I didn't have to pay a wing tax to get it. I have no idea what I'm doing though, so if it doesn't look right, I'm trying to learn. D: The background is a schematic for a TV I restored.

This is a reference model for Fluffy's character, Fluffy the Gryphon. It was drawn by Fluffy. There's a lot of information about the gryphon on the page, including personality, likes, dislikes, skills, and images of the character. Fluffy is a golden eagle and lion gryphon.

Oh look, once again, it's not about protecting children. Once again, it's about surveillance and control.

The NYAG also proposed to gather additional information (beyond what we normally collect in the course of processing payments) about each game user on the off-chance someone in New York was anonymizing their location to appear outside of New York, such as by using a VPN. This would have involved implementing invasive technologies for every user worldwide. Similarly, the NYAG demanded that Valve collect more personal data about our users to do additional age verification—even though most payment methods used by New York Steam users already have age verification built-in. Valve knows our users care about the security of their personal information, and we believe it's in our and their interest to only collect the information necessary to operate the business and comply with law.

This is making the rounds. Seeing it everywhere. It's ragebait. The actual article content focuses primarily on corporate tech lag. Big and small businesses that don't want to shell out millions of dollars every year to upgrade functional equipment company-wide. CNBC is a joke.

"What reason could you possibly have to own an ancient black and white TV?" Oh, I can think of a couple good reasons... This 1961 Zenith TV was purchased off Marketplace and restored by me. Alt text for info.

Marketplace find. 1961 Zenith Custom "Z" Chassis 16F27. It was pulled out of a vacant farm house in rural Iowa after the place was to be purchased.

I restored it to full functionality. Here is a scene from 1941's "The Maltese Falcon". Don't sleep on old movies. There's some gold out there.

Here it is in all it's Mid-Century glory. I love this look so much. The Pink Panther cartoon is being played because it's an amazing show. I have the TV hooked to a cheap HDMI to RF converter that is hooked to a Raspberry Pi linked to my Wifi and local media server.

First time I've ever seen tin whiskers in person. What a pain in the ass tracking down an intermittent short. This potentiometer goes to a video generator that I'm restoring.

A potentiometer that has been taken apart shows some fuzzy metal strands in the sunlight. These are metal whiskers. They are a phenomenon that we aren't 100% sure how they form, but grow like hair.

I have restored another thingy. We had a new hamilton beach can opener for about a year and it died, so I decided to do what I always do and buy something 70+ years old and fix it up. This is a Rival model 757 Can-O-Matic and it is cute and I love it.

Fixed up another television. This TV came to me DOA. It took a bit of extra work to get it running reliably, but I think the results speak for themself. The outer case is steel and was badly rusted on top, so I addressed that as well. #vintage #restoration #repair #tubetech #television

This is after restoration. This thing was a more difficult job that usual, as nearly every component needed to be addressed. As you can see, I repaired the rust damage and paint.

A closer look at the top. It's not perfect, but much better than rusty. and I made sure to not gloss it too heavily, since the original set wasn't a perfect gloss either.

The electronics were roasted. Running a vintage TV with these old components may "light up" or "sort of come on" but it damage other components that are difficult to replace. If you want it to work, give it to someone that knows their way around these relics to inspect it first.

Got this 1961 Zenith television that I've been resurrecting. Got a picture on it! Now for the next steps. I'll be doing a 100% restoration on it, too. It's gonna look so good.

Finally got a picture to display on it and because I'm a dorky millennial, I chose to show off Super Mario World.

Deceptive image tries to explain that initiative 434 would protect women and 439 would remove those protections. In reality, 434 limits retains the 12 week abortion term and opens the door for further restrictions while making it virtually impossible to reverse current laws by enshrining it into the state constitution. 439 is for more protective of women's reproductive freedoms and would establish abortion as a right.

This is getting to be a bit of a chained message at this point, but the message is so important, that I needed to post it here. Do not tolerate nazis. Do not let them into your spaces. Do not give them the benefit of the doubt.

A tale about a guy in a bar watching a bartender throw a nazi out. The bartender goes on to talk about how they come in and act nice, then they invite a friend who's nice, and another. And soon you have a bunch of nazis that stop being so nice and take over the bar. This was posted on a Battletech community site where the original poster was talking about nazis infiltrating their community. We need to protect our communities.
