Breve rece su Santiago. Anche arrivarci in macchina è una bella menata, e comunque se volete farvela a piedi fate pure. Si parcheggia facilmente (per forza, arrivano tutti a piedi). Anche la coda per entrare nella cattedrale, ecco, fate voi. Noi andiamo a Porto.
La morale (ovviamente) è che Finisterre sarebbe l’unico posto da evitare (poi vabbè, chiaro che ci si va). Tutto il resto è così. (Nessun essere umano è stato cancellato da queste foto).
Brindiamo ai Picos (Non so voi, ma con ‘sti 24º ventilati, 18° la sera, io tiro fuori la felpina per stasera, va’)

1/ The Lagoon and Trifid Nebulae are summer classics, but from my latitude they stay very low above the horizon, buried in Milan’s light-pollution dome. I can image them for only a few weeks between June and July, and barely two hours per night. 🔭 #Astrophotography
After three months of preparation, here we are! Time for the first full dress rehearsal with both complete setups, (hopefully) final configurations, and the full operational workflow, simulating the 2-hours eclipse from start to finish… except for the eclipse itself, of course. #Astroophotography

It took me seven weeks and over 45 hours of exposure to complete this narrowband image of IC 1396, the Elephant’s Trunk Nebula. Hydrogen, oxygen and sulphur were captured separately, while the stars were imaged in natural colors. Foraxx, HOO, OHH and Hubble color palettes. 🔭 #Astrophotography
After several weeks of scorching weather, but with the night sky constantly covered by heat-induced clouds, I finally managed to collect enough data to complete at least one of the new projects I had been working on since late May. So here they are: the Whale and Hook galaxy pair. #Astrophotography

Potrebbe andare peggio, potrebbe essere 39.3, ma anche 39.5, o perché no, 40.1. (Sempre sensore esposto a nord, in ombra tutto il giorno)
E voi direte, vabbè, almeno con questo meteo africano e le giornate limpide tipo Sahara chissà durante la notte quanto sta lavorando il mio piccolo osservatorio in terrazza in queste settimane. Le notti qui, TUTTE. (E no, nemmeno una goccia, abbaia soltanto)

E niente, mica avrete pensato che me la facessi davvero sfuggire? Alla fine ho smontato una delle reflex dal setup di test per l’eclissi, ho recuperato un obiettivo decente e ho messo su un treppiede… #astrophotography #moon #venus #conjunction #stargazing
I telescopi stan facendo altro, le reflex sono impegnate sui setup solari, quindi non rompete, questo è il massimo che stasera passa il convento. Maledizione.
