Got new progressive lenses so everything feels like a bouncy castle when I move my head

Is there any chance you will replace the gen AI images on your website with human-made ones? Maybe go the extra step and take a strong stance against gen AI content? It's going to be difficult to get Canadian artists and writers to embrace the platform if you're all-in on AI. I want to like you guys.

Gander:

Glendon Mellow we actually stopped using gen-AI images in our marketing about a year ago now. Aside from the goose which was an illustration by our ceo and on which he used AI filters to give it an “old print” style.

Our new branding has been out for quite a while, and uses no AI. Though the last remaining piece is the update to our website, which is coming soon. We’ve largely been focused on standing up the app and network so it’s taken a back seat.

Yesterday’s 100 km ride got me a lot closer to catching up on my distance goal for the year. My goal is typically to bike as many kilometres as the year, so 2026 km. My best was like, 3,500 km or something when I was out of work over the summer several years ago. #bikesky #StravaCycling #BikeTO

The scarab trilobite (Trinucleus ra) is an ancient, gold-smithed trilobite, haloed in blue flame. It arrests the light and gleams even in darkness.

Doubtless some of you are affronted by my modest use of an LLM. You think that LLMs are "fruits of the poisoned tree" and must be eschewed because they are saturated with the sin of their origins. I think this is a very bad take, the kind of rathole that purity culture always ends up in.

Because the truth is, tech doesn’t have an image problem. It doesn’t have a message problem. It has an intention problem. What’s wrong with the axe murderer who broke into my house is not that he hasn’t successfully persuaded me to buy into his narrative. What’s wrong is that he’s trying to kill me with an axe. Similarly, when you launch a product that’s designed to put millions of people out of work, block access to sources of verifiable truth, replace human creativity with slop, and lower the barriers to every sort of atrocity, the problem isn’t that you haven’t told the public a good story about those things. The problem is that you are trying to do them.
