A month ago, I was closer to the skies, wandering through the alpine meadows beneath the majestic Mont Blanc. I already miss every moment.
Moro-sphinx. Lavande. Flou de mouvement assumé. Hummingbird hawk-moth. Lavender. Blink and it's gone.
Le chêne fait ses préparatifs. Les cupules sont prêtes. L'été n'a pas encore décidé de ce qu'il versera dedans. The oak is making arrangements. The cups are ready. Summer has not yet decided what to pour into them.

Pris il y a dix jours. Depuis, j'ai troqué le Mont-Blanc contre la canicule lorraine. Le change n'est pas favorable.

Gîte sympa au dessus de Praz-sur-Arly entre les Aravis et Beaufortain. Randonnées moins sauvages qu'en Nevache ou Haute Ubaye, mais le Mont Blanc en décor c'est pas mal ;-)
Tourbière des Saisies. Entre les fûts d'épicéas, le Mont Blanc joue les Denali. L'Alaska à deux pas de chez soi. Saisies peat bog. Through the spruce trunks, Mont Blanc plays at being Denali. Alaska a stone's throw from home. fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/R%C3%A9...
Là où le troupeau a cessé de paître, l'épicéa revient. Where the herds stopped grazing, the spruce returns.
Far from the city heat, up in the green alpine pastures, the Mont Blanc range on the horizon ... Loin de la chaleur des villes : l'herbe verte des alpages, et là-bas, les neiges immobiles du Mont-Blanc.
Embouteillage sur le sentier alpin. Cinq cochons, zéro intention de céder le passage ... On an alpine trail you brace for a chamois, an ibex, maybe a marmot. Instead: a porcine welcoming committee, sizing you up like you're the trespasser.
Papaver orientale. Pink so pale it looks borrowed from the light. Here for a day, maybe two
Sous la canicule, tout se recroqueville. Le coquelicot, lui, brûle en rose.
