Oh it is definitely farther east than anything else, even south Chicago. Where I grew up is a corner as far south and west as you can go still in the city. The east side is much much much farther south, and as far south and east as you can go.

This was damage from yesterday in Chicago south side earlier from yesterday. Surely will be more after these very high winds tonight.

Neighbor cleaning up Thursday morning from significant branch taken down by Wednesday night storm.

Significant portion of tree came down last night down the block had blocked street until moved to sidewalk last night. South side of Chicago.

Neighbor is attempting to clear branches that fell on his roof.

When I am in the neighborhood I can visit my dad’s brick.

There is a community walk with sponsored bricks near rhe Dunkin that honors neighborhood firefighters and police officers. That’s my dad’s brick in the middle. He died in 2017.

My dad worked a long time and never got injured or promoted from the ranks. He was made immortal by an award-winning photo in Sun Times by Pulitzer winner John White that became the face of the Muscular Dystrophy “boot” campaign for years and years. He was even on the@wttw telethin one year!
