Matcha got so many plays this week! A hit with my non-gamer husband and my picky teen. It's a keeper! A good, quick one to play at a boba shop or restaurant. The components can be cleaned easily. It's got a classic feeling, like it's been around forever.
These toothbrush covers come in packs of three from Daiso. I love them because some houses don't have counter space, and I don't like putting my toothbrush on the counter at hotels anyway.
Spring Cleaning and Of What's Left were the highlights of tonight's Tricky Tuesday! Tonight solidified for me that I *do* like climbers and shedders way more than trick takers. Should I try Tichu now? But folks who like Tichu, looooooove Tichu and they do not let you forget it. 😳
My fidgets came in! Every public service desk got a sensory kit for folks who may need them. But the gear was too big. I needed things folks can hold in one hand while doing their reading & writing lessons. I notice folks grab their phones & that's hard for their reading tutor to navigate.
Also, doesn't this look like it should be an ice cream sandwich?!!?! How dare Helvetiq trick me. I'm already eating so many feelings lately!
Usually buying new games I think about it quite a bit, before purchasing. There's just so much I can get cheaper / used if I wait on the hotness Introspective Sads after a Memorial this morning = Impulse Buys. I feel good about these though! Local connection & easy to table.
We discovered them a week after my MIL passed. Our yard was neglected for months as we helped her navigate cancer & caregiving. It was comforting to have something hopeful & full of life to look at each day alongside the grief & planning. All her texts had 🦋 🐰 🌺 emojis. 🥹 She would love this.
Checked the fennel first thing in the morning. Discovered that one had emerged and left without us knowing, and one was still waiting. An hour later, it had emerged. It's so beautiful. The last of my black swallowtail daughters!
I'm obsessed with my new daughters. It's wild how the cocoons on the fennel were green. But the ones on the wood or metal were gray, brown. I didn't realize they camouflaged their cocoons! Nature is amazing!
The other one behind it just emerged and a whole other one I didn't know existed emerged as well! Life is beautiful today everyone!
I've diligently checked them every day, sometimes 2-3x a day. Haven't caught one emerging. But this one just did! The cocoon behind it is already empty. 4 more to go!
The new solution I've found is to work on the puzzle separately, so we can both "win the puzzle," together on our own. Thrifted this Magic Company Puzzle awhile back and making much quicker progress, because having the posters make a huge difference!
Home and routine is nice too 🥰. Am I the only one who books a buffer day after vacations? It's too harsh to go straight to work the day after.
I love my family, but after a week at a beach house with them and an extended family gathering upon return, I would like to have a vacation from my family. Like for a month.
Black Swallowtail caterpillars are getting ready / are pupating all over the overgrown fennel by my kid's old pirate ship. We were going to tidy up the yard, but now we can't. Precious pollinators. 🦋
Took a break from dystopia with WanDance this weekend. It's light and cute high school drama. The dance illustrations are a drink for the eyes. I have the rest on hold from the library.
I'm gonna try a thing where (if the opportunity arises), I teach my fam just one new game a week instead of a new game every time we sit to play something.
I *guess* I'm on a dystopian manga kick. Thank goodness for Link+ holds keeping us rich in books! More of an epic fantasy, sci-fi bent in Land vs. Fool Night. At work I have 'Doomsday with my Dog' for a light read.
Board games exist even in the dystopian future of Fool Night. They must be made of plastic though, since wood and plants are rare.
Pizza Matador. Sourdough crust. Delivers half baked pizzas around the Oakland, Alameda area.
Same! I just* got back from taking my mom to her Asian market. Stocked up on snacky snacks.
