Just trying to survive and make this place a little less hellscape-y for my kids and all the other kids.
Except, from this NBC article, it sounds like it still won't be accessible, because ACIP is still blocked from meeting www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...
These parts of Oregon and Washington are already going through it 😔 Please plan ahead and listen to evacuation notifications. Check in on your neighbors and make sure they're prepared too.
Did Steven Thrasher quit social media or??? His account is gone from here and when I tried to find it on IG, it shows I'm not following him (I definitely was) and it's looking strange:
I hate it when they quote "experts" who mislead people into thinking the vaccine will prevent people from getting Covid. There's zero mention of high quality masks in this piece, which would actually help with prevention. Of course staying up on Covid vaccinations is important, but not for this.
I thought it was particularly beautiful on my walk this morning too.
I was pleased to see this educational info go up in a nearby THPRD maintained park about emerald ash borers. You can sign up for a monthly Oregon Tree Health Threats newsletter from Oregon Dept. of Forestry covering EAB and other forest health issues.
I was not thrilled to see this Waymo car in Beaverton this morning.
It looks like he updated the image, FWIW. Doesn't change the preview images, but at least it's not in the post anymore.
This is OUTRAGEOUS. Janeen Sollman needs to be ousted for good. #orleg

I tap on this sticker on my water bottle everyday. Normalization of mass death has been made possible by both the Democrats & Republicans, via the ongoing genocides, pandemic, & climate collapse. So many people warned this would happen, especially when the pandemic hit. White supremacy is thriving.
Hey @mprnews.org, this is quite the choice of reporting. Where is the evidence to support your statement that Renee Good was "attempting to ram into agents"?! Your lack of journalistic integrity is showing. www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...
Can you come to my kid's pediatrician's office and work your magic too? This was from my twins well visit in October 😷
This made me chuckle, because I want to get rid of generative AI *and* golf courses. I would love to see more people getting loud about both.
My kids and I explored a hiking trail we'd never been to on Sunday, and I'm still benefitting from the nature therapy 🌲🍁🏞️☀️
I know a lot of well-meaning people who may have had COVID previously and got Paxlovid at no out-of-pocket cost or a low-ish out-of-pocket cost are telling people (often strangers) who've been recently infected to get Paxlovid. Please know, Paxlovid is not at all accessible for most people today.
Oregon State Senator Deb Patterson is the Chair of the Senate Health Care Committee. She sent this newsletter out today:
Oregon State Representative @rickiruizor.bsky.social put information on his IG account that some of the firefighters are indigenous people from the Umatilla Tribe. Why wasn't that mentioned in the article? Imagine being INDIGENOUS and witnessing this BS.
CDC wastewater data is delayed. Convenient, during a surge when schools around the country are starting back up again 😒 And access to Covid vaccines is very likely going to be much more limited than it already was. Mask up, folks. 😷 From @michael-hoerger.bsky.social on IG:
So, they know ventilation is important to help prevent the spread of COVID in schools... But we still don't have sufficient ventilation in schools...
"They didn't want to know, because then they'd have to do something,” he said. This is exactly the situation with hospital systems, schools, and every other workplace in the US with respect to COVID. It's not that contracting COVID and other viruses over and over isn't a big deal;
"Embracing masks would mean admitting how dangerous wildfire smoke really is. That could lead to a cascade of expensive changes." Applies perfectly to the COVID conversation too.
