Trying catch stitch for the first time and it's like magic. Need to secure these facings but it's for Sam's larp costume so I didn't want to have a big obvious machine top stitch ruining the vibe.
It's been a long month or so but today we opened an exhibition about a local West Lothian guy who became major film director and it's just very cool to have this photo of us in front of the graphics I made 😁
Start of a new quilting project - I have 7 colourways, each with 3 variations, and making 3 blocks of each variation. Adding sashing as well to make a full king size 100 inch quilt with double layered batting, no idea where I'll lay it out to make the sandwich or how I'll fit it through my machine 😂

Improving my sewing corner exponentially, first by my new thread peg board but also by hanging one of the many incredible prints @literaturegeek.bsky.social sent me 😍 the colours of all of them need to be seen in real life, some incredible brights and neons! I'll be using this spot to rotate them 😁

A couple of years ago I decided that any time I noticed I was getting decision paralysis about what to do with free time, or if I was scrolling on my phone for too long, I would just pick up a book. I've not managed it 100% but I've gone from an average of 26 books a year to 72 books in 2025!

Making instructions for a banner/wall hanging craft kit and I am really enjoying making these sketchy wee diagrams to go with them.
That's the binding done! Still a lot of quilting to go but now it's useable and I don't have to worry about the edges fraying while I'm working on it.
Still working on quilting this by hand, by I've got far enough that it's stable and I've decided to add the binding. That way I can use it even if it's not finished 😂 have machine sewn the front half on and now just need to hand stitch the back down.
Currently on Thirteen Ways to Kill Lulabelle Rock by Maud Wolf. About 2/3 through and good fun/intriguing so far.
A little Margaret McDonald inspired textile sketch. Trying to work on my needle turn applique.
Really love these tucks. Made by using a really narrow/short zigzag stitch at the edge of each tuck. 👌 🧶
Blue sky doesn't allow mixed media posts or multiple videos so adding a couple posts - I left a window in the middle for the transparent tucks, to play with light like Begum's work.
It's my first proper day off in weeks so I'm playing with a different idea for my Rana Begum study (finally!)
