Wow ✨ projects are happening and things are coming together, making some real fancy nest boxes for the rescue pigeons. I got the color paint today and put all the exterior trim on. Interior trim and doors still to be done, but nearly ready for pigeon inhabits 🥺

Not as dramatic of a difference, but this is all buckthorn and burdock that I started removing before we called it quits. Got a lot done tho!

Should we have spent this much time outside in a heat advisory? Probably not. Did we? Yeah, we really like yard work and my partner is very serious about reviving the old fire pit this year 🥰

I was sending all of these to my partner cos I couldn’t believe it kept happening 😂 of course I was the only one at work, but I PROMISE YOU I did not rig any of this, I just wanted to listen to my Singin’ Songs playlist! And then Spotify has the nerve to play something else once, and go right back!

Audio on! It’s worth it 😂 I am being personally victimized by Hazbin Hotel today, Spotify is on the fritz and keeps playing Vox Populi after every single song, it’s been happening since 8am and it’s currently 1pm. I have reset Spotify multiple times. How does this keep happening?!

Normally I have new birds spend a week in a cage in the coop, but these guys said “nah we’re wild and free babies” so okay sure. Whatever works for you, I’m glad Seymour doesn’t seem to care much lol

I moved the babies out of the pigeon cafe and into the chicken coop, IN THE CAGE BTW, but when I came back to check on them what do I see but a bunch of jailbreakers!!! Thankfully they don’t seem to be getting picked on (much).

Incredibly unexpected, I caught Garbage (last year’s oops baby) feeding the babies too! I thought Garbage was a boy, but I could be wrong I guess! But boy am I confused now, I need to set up a camera lmfao

In my attempt to discover the parentage, I caught Booger’s mom feeding the babies, but she’s with Booger’s dad, obvs, so I was very confused

I kinda feel bad for Doc, once the babies get big enough to chase them around the parents get mobbed 😂 right before this video, Doc was chasing me around and giving me a stern look, I think he was telling me “feed those kids so I don’t have to!”

I’m not sure what to name this one, they’re kind of a combination of Booger and Rotisserie with the little black flecks. They LOVE food and are the first to rush up to me. Very goofy and curious. Very independent, would rather eat than be held.

I’m torn on naming this one Gull or Scuttle, cos they remind me of a seagull. They are very bold and fearless, and seem to like being held. They also love eating, but are a little shy at first so their sibling gets first dibs.

These babies are just too dang cute, they’re definitely associating me with good stuff now cos all I have to do is walk in and they’re in my business 😂

I found a nest of baby rodents while mowing and employed Seymour to take care of them

The babies are getting so big so fast 🥺 looks like one Boog colored baby and one white baby with grey tips. I love them so much aghhhhh

I was really inspired by this house that I found for sale and I want mine to be as whimsical, but idk how to do that to the physical house itself, so I’m transforming the yard around it first. Baby steps.

Do you ever start a project just intending to do one little corner and then it’s suddenly wrapping around the house and leading down to the old bonfire pit and you’ve put a bunch of your money and time into it? Feels good tho, seems like a totally different house!

Lexi got a “squirrel patrol” bandana, June got a “Bark Ranger” bandana, Cybil was too small for the available bandanas so she’s just a tourist, June and Lexi take care of the park for her 🥰

Steps will be built from the side of the house down to the back yard, where they’ll meet up with the eventual pathway to the fire pit. It’s gonna be so nice and it’s technically my back yard so hardly anyone is gonna ever see it 😂

Wowee! The garden bed wall around the house is complete! Just gotta fill it in tomorrow. It’s getting cottage-y around here, I gotta figure out how to make the actual HOUSE look like a cottage now

This is the project I’m hoping to get done this weekend, but I need a bunch of dirt and rocks to TRULY finish it. I can at least get the walls and steps in, cos the rest is the easy part.

Look, I know creeping charlie is invasive, but it just looks so good as a ground cover and fighting it seems so stupid. I wouldn’t even be mowing today if it wasn’t for all the dang grass growing between the charlie that sticks out like a sore thumb

The clover and grass has been growing in very well despite the dog’s continued attempts to destroy it 😂

I’ve always LOVED sun rooms, my moms friend had one and it was the only place I wanted to be when I was at his house (it was also where they kept the dogs soooooo) it was similar to this photo and under a bunch of ancient cottonwood trees so it was shaded and it was SO NICE

This year’s two babies are out of Doc, my 2024 grand champion horseman pouter, and his mystery wife. Judging by babies being so light, he may have paired up with one of my ash red grizzle hens. Baby pigeons are too cute, I’ll probably start hand feeding them seeds this weekend so they love me 😂
