Finally tackling the cursed green circle skirt. Took the waist band off (again!) to sort out the pocket issue, and now l am tackling the miles of hem. I’ll be glad when it’s done. Would like to wear it tomorrow but highly unlikely! 🤣 Been fighting this skirt for weeks. #sewing #garmentsewing
Spent the afternoon playing around with the first #embroidery design on my cloak to create one for the middle of the back piece. It’s too big for my largest hoop so will need to do it in sections and hope l don’t mangle anything in the process. 🫣🤞
First black #embroidery design on my short cloak complete. Tomorrow l’ll try and give my shoulder/wrist a rest (after the 6 hour marathon today) and start thinking about the rest of the cloak design. Was originally thinking symmetry but do l really want to repeat this design another 3 times? 🤣

And so it begins. Black #embroidery on my black short cloak. This is very much a long term project, that l will take breaks from to work on other things and come back to. Definitely a labour of love (l do love embroidery, second only to @csharpminor.bsky.social ❤️)
Finally finished my Victorian #Embroidery sampler for the short online course. It’s meant to be a pin cushion but l don’t want it sitting dusty on a shelf so maybe I’ll frame it instead… to sit dusty on a shelf 😁
2/2 l’m using the instructions for “Soft cotton padding” from the most excellent “A-Z of Goldwork with Silk Embroidery” as a guide.
After my earlier success, it was all down hill. Second time trying to fit this waist band resulted in torn fabric and a gaping pocket that won’t sit flat. Fabric won’t survive another unpicking. Been fighting this skirt for weeks. Time to admit defeat and move on. #sewing #garmentsewing
And here are they finally finished. Dust covers and mats (covered cardboard so they move on my work table) for my brilliant Featherweight 222 and 221. Both a joy to use. Sadly my pattern matching luck ran out right at the very end! But l’m happy with it anyway. 🤗 #sewing #vintagesewingmachine

This is the modified design l’m using for the short cloak l’m working on. Embroidery scissors for scale. I worry it’s too big (10 cm) but l’m embroidering it in black and l’m worried if it’s smaller it will be too hard to see. Thoughts? #embroidery #sewing
