I write about TV. Words at many places including The Daily Beast, Elle, Marie Claire, IGN, The Playlist, Backstage Magazine, and more. Talking about costumes, fashion and Felicity’s hair.
Can Lego not use the word “cigarette” in their copy. Also ready to be mad about the bee in The X-Files movie all over again
Americans fans we stay winning www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-featur...
All I could think about during this scene in the Widow's Bay finale was this moment with Philip Jennings in The Americans series finale, and how differently Matthew Rhys plays it when he has a gun on him. It might sound silly, but he is a very good hand actor (as well as everything else).
This didn’t make the piece (word limits and all that) but as we’re in award season mode I wanted to share what he said about Keri Russell winning at the SAGs and going to these events. Let me me be the one to write the article on Keri and The Americans.
Happy Widow’s Bay Finale Eve/Day (depending where you live). Here’s what Kate O’Flynn told me about this episode when I spoke to her for Elle. Get ready! www.elle.com/culture/movi...
I was in New York for a wedding (which was amazing), and the bonus of then spending the Saturday night in Carroll Gardens with the newlyweds watching the Knicks was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Best vibes hands down.
My most on brand moment walking through MoMa was seeing this painting by Rene Magritte and saying “hey that’s in Lestat’s apartment.”
Guillermo del Toro loving Widow’s Bay *and* The Americans. I longed for days like these.
Stephen Root should be number one on a call sheet. Someone cast him in a part worthy of his incredible talents (please and thank you) www.esquire.com/entertainmen...
The images available before air were pretty limited and what I wanted was a great shot of Ava and Deborah because this show is them. So putting these here now instead.
My excited scrawl when I was making notes during this episode. Never been happier not to know about this in advance.
One of my favorite things about this week's Widow's Bay is that the first look image of the series came from this episode (and the reason why Tom is hugging his organizer so tightly). So happy to be in a world where Matthew Rhys gets to be in a comedy.
This week's Widow's Bay is one of my faves of the season and such a great showcase for Kate O'Flynn. Also, a great episode for anyone who likes the word "qualms"
This week's episode of Widow's Bay made me shriek with terror and laugh in equal measure. And shout out to Matthew Rhys for the pitch he hits.
And of course, this part about Catherine O'Hara, costumes, and Moira being sexy stood out
I was delighted when I spotted this a few weeks ago and the backstory is even better than I thought it would be
Happy Margo's Gor Money Troubles Day! This is one of my fave shows of the year so far that made me laugh and cry. Incredible performance, and while this selection of images is limited, the costumes (designed by Mirren Gordon-Crozier) are a stunning mix of lived in styles and fantasy moments.
Oh hey I’m gonna be recapping Euphoria this season for AVC (and did a rewatch of S1/2/specials that ended up due to bad timing on my part watching 10 eps in two days)
I love the show and am equally perplexed. This feels pretty accurate though
One of my favourite Lost production stories is that Michael Emerson was so good that they completely changed his storyline from a three episode guest star to a pivotal character.
Also thrilled that Matthew Rhys gets to flex his comedic chops on this show
