My eighth collection, Dopamine and the Devil (Coffeetown Press 2025) now available! I'm a schizophrenia survivor and a songwriter too! Some of my songs can be found on SoundCloud.
I'm so glad to be included in this very impressive anthology!!! #poetry
Isn't it lovely to have so many artist friends? This one's by Paul Lodes. Painters and poets have a lot in common...
Had to say goodbye to my sister's dear cat, River. We loved her so much! She was quite spectacular...
A poem from when I was eighteen! From my debut collection, The Dogtown Poet (Ginninderra Press). Not even sure if it's available anymore... #poetry #mentalhealth
Well darn! After I returned to do a workshop they actually gave me the key to the hospital which once confined me. Hey, a Cinderella story I do believe!
Hey! Would you like a signed copy of my new book? DM me and we'll work it out. It's a real crowd pleaser!
A rare music gig on Saturday at Subterranean Books at 3pm. It should be fun! Will play some originals and some covers of very old songs! Will have books and CDs for sale.
Mental health issues. Academia. Weird interpretations. This one has it all!
There's a bunch of sonnets in my new collection that deal with the first time I lost touch with reality. After all these years I've learned how to write about it, I guess. This is the first in the batch and I hope it's pleasing! #poetry
Oh, friends! Here's a poem from Dopamine and the Devil. I hope you like it! #poetry
Oh, my dear new friends! My sister's cat is sick, in the hospital fighting for her life. BUT! She's also up for America's favorite pet. I'll put the link in the comments. You can vote for free! Let's hope she makes it on both counts!
Lovely time with my sister in Tennessee. Wrote lots of poems. But sad about dear River, who has a liver problem. I pray the meds work and all is cool by my next visit!
I was finally able to give my sister a copy of Dopamine and the Devil. And she likes it! Happy Holidays to all!
Behind me is my good buddy, Dane. He did the fab cover for Dopamine and the Devil. Which might be enough reason to pick up a copy! Hey!
What a wonderful day! I sold every book at Barnes and Noble!
My old football coach (who helped get me into poetry) claimed he'd awake in the morning and say, Good morning Mr. Sun! I had my doubts. But who knows?
Going for the clean cut look for all these events coming up!
A still life from the back of my building where I am often known to muse!
Selfie with my newest effort...can't wait to get 'em out there!
Got one in the new online version of Midwest Review...so glad!
I'm so glad to be in this great anthology with lots of awesome poets! You're Never Too Much: Poems for Every Emotion. By Macmillan.
Check out my new poem with Levitate, a fab journal out of Chicago!
Ah, when I was a youth I never thought that being a writer involved a computer. Alas!
The old neighborhood! Sadly, the closest we came to corned beef and cabbage were a couple of Reubens...a good Bloomsday nonetheless!
Thinking about this for a new author photo...do you like it?
