Book 38 of 2026 Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir I went into this with really high hopes after hearing so much hype and it was…fine. I want to watch the movie. Rocky was great. Grace was a great character. Blazed through the first 20% and then it just got less interesting to me. The end was great.
Book 37 of 2026 Battle Mage Farmer Book Three: Cultivation by Seth Ring Like reading a book that’s part D&D and part Harvest Moon. What more could you want?
Book 36 of 2026 On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder This short little book is well worth a read and draws some very very clear parallels between modern politics by those currently in power and slides from democracy into authoritarianism at other times in the 20th century.
Book 35 of 2026 Cibola Burn by James S.A. Corey This series really turned off in a wild direction with this one but it really played out in some fun ways. A great reminder that the real threat is not the mysterious and ancient alien race that tried to destroy all life but rather corporatism.
Book 34 of 2026 Old Man’s War by John Scalzi My first book by Scalzi. I read it in 3 days. I literally couldn’t stop. A really interesting and intense world. I went to the library and got another Scalzi novel once I finished.
Book 33 of 2026 Parade of Horribles by Matt Dinniman And just like that I’m all caught up with DCC and feel the great and terrible void as I wait for the next one. Another hilarious ride ( pun intended). Not my favorite of the series but still amazing.
Book 32 of 2026 Abaddon’s Gate by James S.A. Corey A little slower start than the previous book but a great cast. A great reminder that the real threat is not the mysterious and ancient alien race that tried to destroy all life but rather people clinging to power at all cost.
Book 31 of 2026 All Star Superman by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely Oh man! If you love Superman and haven’t read this, read it! If you don’t like Superman, read it! Required reading for anyone who claims to know anything about superheroes.
Book 30 of 2026 Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely This is and absolutely gorgeous book and really captures the essence of Supergirl and her goodness but how she is different than her cousin. I think the book leans into some of King’s worst tendencies as a writer though.
Book 29 of 2026 This Inevitable Ruin by Matt Dinneman Floor 9. We made it to floor 9 and it did not disappoint. I was worried it was going to be constant battle but it’s varied and o treating. Humorous and heartbreaking all at the same time. Princess Donut is the best.
Book 28 of 2026 Caliban’s War by James S.A. Corey I loved this one. The first book was good. This book was great. It starts off with a bang and doesn’t let up. Deeply familiar story while still feeling exciting.
Looking like an absolute degenerate as I finish up Ranni’s questline.
My fashion journey across the Lands Between. Slay while you slay.
I have returned. Really nice summer. Most important thing to know about me though:
I hit a new level of socially awkward interaction with one of those dumb things recently. It was blocking the aisle so I couldn’t get through but the front of the store was right there and people kept walking by so it never started moving. I couldn’t t ask to go around because it wasn’t a person.
I was a bit tall for the caves at times but I made it work.
Went in a cave today. Didn’t have a panic attack. Good day.
Burger number 2 of my burger tour of Colorado Springs. Did not like this one nearly as much as yesterday’s Hawaiian burger. Super messy. The flavors weren’t really there despite the abundance of sauces. Just disappointing for green chile cheeseburger.
Slipped at the Garden of the Gods. Dropped my 1 year old (only about a foot) and busted up my knee. But man what a beautiful place to do that.
Enjoying colorful Colorado this week. Absolutely gorgeous place.
Game 5 of 2026 Vampire Crawlers: A Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors I had a lot of fun with this one. Finally went back and cleaned up the last bits.
Game 4 of 2026 Scritchy Scratchy My secret gaming weakness is a good incremental game. I had so much fun with this. Not too long of a game which I really like. There is a definite ending too which felt good. Interface was very satisfying. Just a nice time.
Finished the intro the Tales of Arise. This is gonna be so fun!
Also all AI logos look like buttholes. Why would you want butthole jewelry?
Fire Emblem Three Houses reference in Bluey. Dmitri missing an “I”. Upside down Claude. And your girl Edelgard.
