Sunsets make space for moonrises. The flow of life never stops, and neither does our work at the EU’s external borders. Together with the Romanian colleagues, Frontex officers deployed at the border between Romania and Serbia patrol day and night using state-of-the-art technical equipment.
The airport can look like the border we’ve already solved. In Vienna, our Executive Director Hans Leijtens opened the Global Alliance session on irregular migration by air. A flight is often one leg of a longer journey no single country or agency sees in full.
Frontex is ready for a challenging summer in Greece 🇬🇷 500+ officers, 11 vessels, 3 aerial assets, 4 Mobile Surveillance Systems, 1 airport and 6 Registration and Identification Centres for migrants. None of this would be possible without our partners: Hellenic Police and Hellenic Coast Guard.

Small country, big impact. Ireland’s eighth Presidency of the Council of the EU runs from 1 July to 31 December, opening a new trio with Lithuania and Greece. Priorities: competitiveness, security and values, including the Pact on Migration and Asylum and stronger external borders.

A maritime Search and Rescue exercise took place in Almería with the participation of Frontex, Guardia Civil, and Guardia Costiera. The activity reinforced cooperation and readiness in a realistic operational setting.
