Just got back from an #AlamoDrafthouse (Raleigh) Craft-Party? The film was The Phantom of the Opera (2004). Wish they made time for us to craft AND watch the film. Not having us do both at the same time. I did the paper rose at least. Wish they’d put more thought into the event. 😔

A paper flower made from 2-inch long scissors, a toothpick, a pipe cleaner, black lace and about five small pieces of paper. It’s supposed to be a rose but again I didn’t have much material and did this in a dark theater. The glue was completely dried up too lol. I remember the guy next to me trying to do it and quickly giving up. I don’t blame him. This was a disaster of a “craft party.”

The packet were given for the calligraphy note we all were supposed to do. In a dark theater with no stable surface where food isn’t present. I’m not trying to dunk on my local Alamo Drafthouse I want to see them thrive but stuff like this is hurting them. They cheap out and don’t provide any events or activities at their “Parties” and we get stuff like this. The movie was at the very least entertaining, incredibly cheesy but entertaining!

A man goes through a painful, demonic transformation. His skin is scaled and physically burning to the point where his tears are turning to steam, his white button up crisping to ash. Hands clawed and ears elongated to a sharp point. Fangs forcing his mouth open. Eyes a pure vibrant blue. He feels a medley of agony and unbridled rage which he doesn’t understand. Finally his hair burns bright red and flows like smoking flames.

Changed the color palette and adjusted elements of my fun concept to have a type of bird-like creature which resembled plague doctors. In case you aren’t aware the birds are meant to be black and white no matter the background or mood. #art #digitalart #2dart #bsky.art #artistssupport #procreate

The new version of my Plague Birds art with a warmer color scheme, placement of the birds, plants and pond have been changed.

Another alternate version but with an icy color scheme since it is snowing where I live!

The original version which is way too busy and has too weird of a color scheme.

A duck-like creature resembling a plague doctor wearing a cross beaded necklace and top hat looks at plague-lings in annoyance. Mainly a the largest of the three dozing off with a gray dialogue bubble with only “Z Z Z…” inside. Its eyes are closed while the smaller two in front are wide awake. In between the head plague and the other three is a blue pond full of green and yellow lily pads. Behind them is a blue willow tree, some foliage and a small hill. Beside the tree is purple rocks covered in pink moss. All of the bird-like creatures are done purely in black and white while the background and middle ground using only color.

Full color on sketch layer and refined shading/lighting. He wears a dark red cotton coat with shiny purple buttons at the front going down in two rows parallel to each other. The left side of his face is obscured by shadows and smoke except for a pure white small circle eye. The other eye is a light blue-green. His skin is porcelain white adorned by burnt cream colors. In the middle of watching the original 13 Ghosts and less than ten minutes in I already feel fear for as well as relatability to the main character from two lines of dialogue: “How much money do we have in the bank?” “About two dollars.”

My iPad malfunctioned again. This time I had to get a replacement. Though I may not be able to access the previous data including all my work on procreate I didn’t save somewhere else. It sucks but it also gives me the vibe of a new beginning. Still want it back so I can finish a t4t zine piece.

Two ghosts debating how to hold hands again a starry night sky. I redid the ghosts but they’re on an easily importable file on procreate. There is also supposed to be a rib cage around them but that was on my other iPad. 👻

I understand the issue with this piece: Charlie isn’t posed in a natural way, rather floating in a heart filled void. I was far too focused on the outfit and design as a whole more than giving her a feeling of a living breathing moving character.
