It's Friday, it's an overcast, damp day in Brisbane's winter. That calls for a dark beer.
Once again filling out my conference speaker registration with the job title "Cat herder".
At the launch of @playmomento.com supported by Screen Queensland. A lovely, local indie dev story.
Had a fun time running a panel at Queensland Games Festival Framework event on Friday night about releasing a game in 2026. HUGE thanks to my panelists Mars Bleach, Riley Neville, Brent Waller, Hay Lee and Patrick Klug who shared their triumphs and disasters so candidly.
I wonder if it was Captain Feathersword or Dorothy the Dinosaur 🤔
Fancy Friday afternoon beers somewhere that really shouldn't let the likes of me in.
Classy Friday drinks at the Intercontinental in the city.
Am I on the psychedelic timeline, or did everyone else at the Bronco's see The Wiggles doing a DJ set at half time?
Another Dark Knight appropriate beer whilst playing LEGO Batman.
You love to see it - another physical release. Busy weekend of gaming ahead.
Out for a bit of culture on a Sunday arvo.
Solid Saturday afternoon putting together my birthday LEGO.
Huge thanks to @wagic.org.au for hosting, and Screenwest for funding my workshop on Saturday. And thank you to all the attendees who came to learn armed with some great questions. I love doing this kind of thing, although my voice sometimes disagrees after 4h...
TIL that there's a rooftop bar and bistro in Toowoomba on top of an old bank building. And it's rather lovely.
Bought this mini PC 11 years ago for web browsing on the TV etc. It's sat unloved in a drawer for years. Got it out yesterday, installed Ubuntu Server on it, and set up Pi Hole on it. So easy to do, and it's low power and silent. Should've done it years ago.
Look, all I'm saying is that my air fried Doritos Jalapeno hot cross buns with Vegemite and cheese were delicious with my coffee this morning.
I appreciate this will be triggering for some, including @serrels.bsky.social But the addition of butter and Vegemite was great.
The inaugural EQUIP in Canberra today was excellent. Amazing turn out of 120 people! Many thanks to everyone who came, hope you got a lot out of the 3 different panels.
Arrived in our nation's capital for the first time. It's mildly damp.
Thanks to the fine folks Screen Canberra I'm going to be at EQUIP on Wednesday next week. You can hear from me (look, I'll likely be ranting) and a bunch of other Australian industry folks about marketing, funding, commercial stuff (my fave) and more.
Excellent day in Hobart with my "Your game is a business" workshop. Great support from Screen Tasmania and lovely to have Tasmanian Arts Minister Hon Madeleine Ogilvie MP drop by to talk about commercialisation.
Had a great afternoon and evening in Hobart catching up with friends. Prepping for my session this afternoon with Screen Tas and @tasgamemakers.com "Your game is a business"
Seems like the wasp stings to the head didn't kill me so I'm all set to fly to Hobart.
