Good things. Amplified.

This week, Major Jason Watson did a brave and patriotic thing. He willingly gave up his rank, pension, and freedom, all because the President is a criminal and nothing is being done about it. If you wear the uniform, are you willing to do this? They can prosecute one. Will they prosecute thousands?
I'll take "Things I Never Thought I'd See On CNN" for $500...
Always be willing to adjust your expectations. After years of trying, I have finally been successful at meal prep! It's not full meals yet, but the "make-a-double-batch-of-cookie-dough-and-freeze-it-to-make-hot-fresh-homemade-cookies-in-under-20-minutes" plan is working tremendously well.
More adventures in baking. Today, it's my attempt at sausage buns - two plain, two inspired by the buns at Mr. Submarine (which is Canadian and superior to Subway in every way, and no, I won't be taking questions) - a cheesy bun and a Mediterranean-inspired one, with olive oil and Italian seasoning.
Here are just a few of the spoils from my Very Busy Weekend.
With the last of the snow (hopefully) melted away, and before the grass and plants can fully come in, there is that ugly period of Spring, where basically everything is dirt. Criss Cross Applesauce highly approves. My furniture and carpet? Not so much.
Crisscross Applesauce likes hanging out in the same room as her people. Though if her people are in separate rooms, she'll choose the one who's closest to the bed.
What are all the Flat Earthers saying about the glorious photos taken by the crew of Artemis II? I suspect there's some heavy-duty copium going on.
Wishing everyone a happy and peaceful Good Friday. Now I'm off to do some baking.
It was back to winter this morning, at -9C. But that wasn't cold enough to deter Criss Cross Applesauce - here she is in her lovely two-piece winter ensemble. Brisk wind, pink noses, life is good.
So what if the world has deemed me "unemployable" at 55? My bread-making game is ON. POINT.
This excellent response to the "but that's socialism!" crowd deserves to be amplified: "In a healthy society, there are no "undeserving." There are just people....[In a social democracy] dignity is not a privilege."
Day Ten with Crisscross Applesauce, and this wonderful girl continues to teach me new ways to approach life. For example, when the snow melts, revealing something new that spooks you a little, be sure to face your fear, come back around, and issue forth an invitation to play. ❤️
I'm looking forward to the day when y'all elect a real blue wave and we can trot out the only quote dear old Lindsay got right:
I'm going to have to learn how to crochet to make one of these for Crisscross Applesauce.
Day Two of having Miss Crisscross Applesauce with us. She's lying beside/on me on the couch, sound asleep and snoring. Love, love, love this sweet precious girl.
So I did a thing today: adopted a dog. World, please meet Miss Criss Cross Applesauce.
This one word response will now become my go-to interaction with most of the world. FOCUS, people!
Gee, you'd think a Nazi-saluting, white supremacist-supporting, Trump-voting POS racist like Jake Lang would know what the word "lynching" means.
The rich, decadent, tone deaf irony. If Fred Trump had shown his son even a little bit of kindness, the entire world would be safer and happier right now.
