Pennington Flash a.m, Single Female Com Scoter first seen @ W end @08.15 before drifting to the middle of the flash, 2 Green Sand in Ramsdales, Heard G'shank calling while on Ramsdales Ruck sounded like it was flying West, 8 C.Tern. Y'day Juv Hobby flew low over Ramsdales Reedbed @ 17.10 #PFBirding
Sat a'noon @ RSPB Marshside highlights: 2 Spoonbill, 1 Whimbrel flew SW calling, 1 Greenshank, several Juv Y Wag, 2 eclipse Wigeon, a big build up in numbers of H Martin & Swallow & smaller numbers of Sand Martin in late a'noon & 1 Marsh Harrier. Numerous B'flys Holly Blue the best. #UKBirding

My first confirmed successful breeding @ Bickershaw CP with 3 fledglings. Just caught the rear end of one moving through the vegetation. Also saw 3 fledglings @ Pennington Flash. #BCPBirding #PFBirding
Hot weather this week has been good for a variety of species with more insects providing food for a good number of fledglings. A pair of LTT fly catching from branches above the nest then dropping down to feed the young was intriguing & Orchids came to life. Colage photos from this week @ #PFBirding
4 years ago today this White tailed Lapwing gave me one hell of a shock when I found it on a Sunday afternoon @ Bickershaw C.P. not realising that it had left Lincs 2 days prior. It left 31st then found @ Woolston Eyes & Sandwell Valley after touring England for many years #UKBirding #Patchbirding

Mon a.m @ Pennington Flash I saw a C.Tern with a Silver BTO ring on its left leg as per photo. Sun p.m I saw a different C.Tern with Silver BTO ring on the right leg,as per photo, both rings I can't read! Q. Would they be from same ringing scheme or different ones? Sorry 4 v.poor photos! #PFBirding

Another vid of the Elton Res BNG which whilst close to pairs of GCG & Coot which were happy to be side by side the BNG was wary of getting too close & on the odd occasion it did it was quickly ushered away & was dive bombed by Lapwing for good measure. Felt sorry for it really! #UKBirding

Y'day aft'n I decided to try & catch up with the G Scaup @ Pennington Flash which I found straight away on the opposite side of the flash. The threat of rain constant @ the point thunder & lightning arrived while watching the 7 BNG & 2 C Tern 4.30 left me soaked in seconds #UkBirding #PFBirding
