Just got this album direct from the artist. It's quietly intense, and a very easy listen. So glad that I've got a ticket to see her play in September.

Todays choice from what is left of the vinyl is Lucky Leif and the Longships by Robert Calvert. It's a concept album based on the idea of what if the Viking colonies in America had been successful, using various musical styles.
It'll work a lot better than having someone who has 2 failed attempts to be leader, and who will be attacked by the media in the same way that Starmer is being now.
Todays choice is from new vinyl, it's Lighthouse by Tessa Rose Jackson, it's a double album in coloured vinyl, played at 45rpm and with a lyric/photo book. It arrived this afternoon, so this is the first time I've played it, and so far it's definitely impressing.
Todays choice from what is left of the vinyl is The Golden Void by Hawkwind. This is an unofficial live album recorded at Glasgow Apollo in 1982. Limited edition of 500 copies with white centre labels. Like many 'rare' albums, not worth as much as you think it might be.
New vinyl today. Currently listening to Atlas by Charlotte Jacobs. This is definitely outside of my comfort zone and was bought after hearing one track on radio 3. I'm not sure what to make of it, but I haven't turned it off, only over.
Todays choice from what is left of the vinyl is Shout at the Devil by Ozzy Osbourne. A double live album of Black Sabbath songs without any tracks from Ozzy's first 2 solo albums. Tbh, not a fav of mine, but they can't all be.
Todays choice from what is left of the vinyl is Music inspired by Lord of the Rings by Bo Hannson. I think this is the original UK release, bought at a 2nd hand record shop in Notting Hill a very long time ago, it includes a well known picture of JRR Tolkien.
Todays choice from what is left of the vinyl is Tales of the Unexpected by Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush. Including covers of the Beatles and Hendrix, there is some excellent guitar work on this.
Todays choice from what is left of the vinyl is No Remorse by Motörhead. It's a double compilation album, and has a leather sleeve which features Joe Petagno's reworked version of Snaggletooth.
Todays choice from what is left of the vinyl is Crest of a Knave by Jethro Tull. It won best the best hard rock/metal vocal/instrumental performance Grammy in 1989, beating And Justice for All by Metallica. The award was split into 2 categories after this.
Todays choice from what is left of the vinyl is Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends by ELP. Just to make sure of their prog credentials, it's a triple live album. I usually listen to each album I post about in full, but this might be an exception.
Todays choice from what is left of the vinyl is Xenon Codex by Hawkwind. This was the 3rd, and last, album with the lineup of Brock, Bainbridge, Lloyd Langton, Davey and Thompson. Which, for me, is one of their better era's. Pic of outer and folded out sleeve.
