Brilliant to attend the opening of St Catherine's Wood as a new park and green space on the banks of the River Irk today. The transformation of this space and area is all part of our ambitious plans for 1,000s of new homes in our Victoria North New Town in Manchester.🌳🏡
Fantastic to attend opening of Dovecote House which has 89 affordable homes on Laystall Street in City Centre today. A brilliant project by Great Places Housing Group, which includes 31 homes for social rent, that have been let to local residents, including 7 for those right sizing too.🏡

More new social rent housing in North Manchester. 🏡🌹 This former brownfield site in Higher Blackley has helped deliver 25 new social rent homes for local families. All part of our @manchesterlabour.bsky.social strategy to see 10,000 new social, council and genuinely affordable homes by 2032.

In 2025/26, we saw 901 new affordable homes built in Manchester, in 23 out of 32 wards, 439 for social rent. A record year.🏡 1,000s more homes on site too. Despite opposition from the Green Party to new social housing in Manchester, it is Manchester Labour building the homes that Mancunians need.🌹

9 years on from terrible fire at Grenfell, we remember the 72 people who died and the trauma for those still injured and suffering.💚 More still needs to be done to ensure that justice is truly and finally delivered for Grenfell, and that a fire like this can never happen again in any home in the UK
