DDOT is planning to change the traffic pattern at Connecticut & Calvert. There will be a northbound left-turn lane, and the current right-turn lane will be for through traffic as well. If you have a better idea, let DDOT know by August 7. open.substack.com/pub/anc3c07/...

Went to the ground breaking for the Piney Branch stormwater tunnel. It's a huge project but will reduce sewage overflows into Rock Creek from 25 a year to 1. It's a commitment of love and care for our environment and future generations. I hope one day we can safely swim in the creek.

Piney Branch is closed because they're moving the road while they dig a huge tunnel to hold all the dirty stormwater. Eventually this will help clean up Rock Creek and the Potomac. The road will re-open next week sometime. Be patient.

The (inaugural?) Rock Creek 5k was really fun although a steep climb on the backhalf might have shaved a few seconds off my time.
