Grimm (Probably Not Escaping Samsara)
@gdi
Tired. 4 decades and counting. Chicago born, PNW raised, Minnesota transplant. Approximately 3800 Roborovski hamsters in a Carhartt jacket and they are all trying very hard. ICE GIT OUT YA fuckin DUMBIES
This feels more and more like the "Bluesky Petty Vengeance Tour" update, the further I scroll down.
Yaaay now I know names to faces. The land acknowledgement was DFL Treasurer Lindy Sowmick, and the Reverend was Luke Stevens-Moyer.
are you SERIOUS do you know how many amazing artists I loved as a kid were popping tf off in '35?!?! *sigh* Fine. Here, an M.C. Escher lithograph that doesn't get enough love imo:
I dunno if we're moots but I need to share my sweet clever gentle little man. This is Comrade Boris, the Trilling Void. In his country, cat adopts you.
Took a mental health day from social media for a bit. I'm kinda back. Tentatively. Also, here's Comrade Boris.
Re-blogging this with an alt text that fully lists the companies.
I tried to draw and uh. Nobody psychoanalyze me on this one, I'm perfectly capable of psychoanalyzing myself.
These two. Right now, I'm chilling next to the Mississippi.
Boris the void has been given painkillers for his hurt and swollen legs, and we got a farm cat discount on his rabies shot and vaccinations. He is in high spirits now, blissfully unaware of our plans to overthrow his Romanovs and capture the family jewels.
I have no idea why the Void is a Marxist. My dumb fluffy baby Peechy was a transphobic Republican surrounded by queers? He has fantastic lil black beans tho.
*sighs* Meet Comrade Boris, the Howling Void. He limped up to us just before the snowstorm. This is the 4th cat this year. I need to find whoever it is in our neighborhood who keeps these polite, perfectly well socialized, flea-ridden UNFIXED OUTDOOR CATS I just wanna talk
So I'm basically transgender Puxatawney Phil. Nice. (Link is anisota.net/harvest/)
It's been a minute since Wisconsin has poleaxed me with Culture Shock. I was beginning to think my West Coast ass had acclimated.
@theonion.com I'm helping clear out an old friend's house and we found this free campus publication from April 1991.
*squeak* I love it when they become a steamer basket full of fluffy dumplings.
Today was rough. Like, "Met someone at work who is happy the bill passed and has no idea what this is gonna do to her loved one at the assisted living facility I work at and then wanted an apology from me when I fled her presence to clock out" rough. Please enjoy my 7 week old chickens with me.
Rah and I built a second level on the coop we've frantically slapped together for our six week old chickens. The girls were so chuffed to have NEW perches! And then they got to eat all the grass clippings.
I lost one of my queer elders today. I've been thinking about what it would be like to be 8, 11, 15, or 22 right now. What an older trans person could say that might've helped me. But words fucking suck right now. So here's a clip of baby chickens dust-bathing. Watch as many times as you like.
I absolutely intend to - it is my reward for getting through tomorrow xD However, I leave you with these shots of Madam Oh. She's a mottled English Orpington and the largest of her flock.
TGIF. I have baby chickens, and they're my doomscroll propaganda firehose antidote of choice. I feed them seeds and sorrel and watch them bask under the heat lamp, and it keeps me sane. I mean, I made report cards for them, so sane is relative.
*Looks wearily in at the Rectangle Of Horror* I know. I know. But even so, Baby chickens.
Weekend Library Comics Haul. *Unbearably smug* The Librarian got excited when he saw what I was checking out.
