Spotted at work this early(ish) base spec MCC Smart diesel. Registered in October 2001 according to the DVLA, this must be one of the last LHD ones being sold in the UK

This was my 1983 323i. Curiously there were two versions of the 323i E30; from oct '82 it had 143hp and from September'83 it got 150hp.

My wife had two for many years; a '98 KA3 and a KA Collection, all very well equipped with aircon and the last one even had quickclear. All great fun to drive and absolutely cheap as chips to run.

Fb reminded me that 16 years ago I finished stripping the E30 and took the car back home after using a nearby barn to do the work. At the time, my daily driver was this very early 1992 BMW 318is Coupé.

💯 agree. My child isn't exposed to peeking sun for long periods, so we can live with the shades below. If the sun gets in the eyes I still have sunglasses for her. My dad used a muslin to wedge on the window in his Peugeot 404 in the Portuguese sun and I survived. Not a fan of those socks either

I see this early Mazda MX-5 a few times at work and I love the colour combo on this one, with an interior still in good condition and a paint with a good shine. Still has the original rear dealer numberplate. I also spotted this rather curious "Do Not Wax" sticker, which I never seen before.

Always look at work carpark. Today we have a customer from Belgium, with this fabulous looking Alfa Romeo GTV 6 2.5. It's RHD and lots of scotland stickers, so maybe an ex-pat? Doesn't matter, it looks mint! #alfaromeo

Screen break afternoon walk. It's a privilege to work in such a lovely place, with lovely grounds and Canadian guests

Now this was a find, an off cut corner section from an E12 I got this morning. I cut the section I needed and adjusted to the cut section on my car. Saved loads of fabrication time and now i just need to file down some edges and weld.

A rarity spotted today at work, a 1995 Honda Civic LSi coupe 5th gen. I always liked these and fun to drive.

Things we miss in old BMWs:

It's been two months since some work was done on the E12. Bought a new angle grinder, chopped the last rotten bits and applied rust converter. Next step is to cut new metal and weld it. Two full days' work needed to have all the welding done, but unsure when that's happening

This is what we do at De Vere. We pack and give away almost all our coffee ground waste. It also saves a lot on weight on food waste collection. Very popular with guests and staff, hence only one left this morning.

Incidentally, Fb reminded me that exactly 15 years ago I sold my '92 318is coupé which was one of the earliest in the country. Sadly, it ended up being a drift machine and scrapped. I later got a 318i 4dr Auto and later 320i coupé that was a delight to drive

Rare to see a earlyish unmolested E36 these days with original dealer plates. Almost basic spec 316i with unpainted bumpers and no fog lights

The highlight of yesterday's American Speedfest was seeing the life size Lightning McQueen and see my daughter's face light up. Had to come back to it 4 times! Despite the weather, there were some small spots of sun but she had fun and enjoyed a bit of Nascar race cars going round the track

Has anyone "upgraded" their classic car seats for more modern versions? I genuinely hate the seats on my E12, with no lateral support, slippery vinyl and not much comfort. I was thinking of adapting E36/39/60 seats (I would put older BMW seats but very hard to find in a cream colour).
