We’ve arrived. After a cloudy day sun is belting in my eyes and I left my sunglasses. But I’ve got drink and a good view of the stage. Come on sweet baby James.
South Hetton sunset just now. A good day. Planning for 98 BESS units &substation metres from housing in our village refused. Planning rules seriously outdated. Public Safety not criteria for refusal so we had to rely on visual and ecological impacts. People at risk of fire/poisoning not grounds.
Does anyone know where I got rained on for 2 hours before the game was called off? Upside is I had nice food and a few drinks with my besties. We shouted for good shots and wickets taken while India batted but England didn’t get to face a ball.

BEYOND EXCITED. Today we’ve been pottering in the wilder bit of the garden and topping up the pond. We’ve got newts galore big and small a gorgeous speckled frog ( camera shy) a huge toad under the compost bin wrens and robins nests. Who cares if my garden isn’t neat and controlled I’m doing my bit

It’s been a mellow yellow kind of day. No sign of the otters but a deer just stood and watched us with no fear at all. Listening to the river Coquet was truly calming and I did 5 miles in the sun.
Last nights waxing crescent and Venus looking across to Simonside. It’s set to be glorious today. Off for a walk to look for otters on the Coquet.

I’ve lived with a graveyard as my neighbour ( we share the wall) for more than 40 years and it’s been wonderful
Guess who’s back and I’m delighted. Off out to canvas for a by-election here in Co Durham.
Went to take kids to school this morning to be met with this. A very old tree across a main bus route and it’s caused mayhem. I do feel sorry for the poor souls out there cutting it up to remove it.
Last nights 4 miles in the crunchy snow under the stars. We stopped off in Murton to see a Ray Lonsdale statue “Children of Mothers” at their Cenotaph. A great start to our getting fit campaign.
Yesterday I walked around Derwentwater with a younger friend. We talked drank in the scenery and let go of stuff. I came home exhausted but buzzing. Whatever 2026 brings I hope to embrace it with friends and family. I wish everyone a better year than the last.
I’m am so sad to see this in a neighbouring village. Just 2 hours after they came together to turn the lights on for another year someone thought this was funny. The tree has taken years to get to this and stood proud in the village centre. The people who bought and cared for it are broken by it.

Aww thanks off to Liverpool it’s very foggy in Durham but glorious now. Meeting friends today and Sunday on way home. It so helps to be with like minded people for a bit. Have a lush weekend lovely. 💐🤗😘
