And a modern classic, the Bourbon Renewal. Yep, you guessed it - it’s got Bourbon. Also, Crème de Cassis, lemon juice, simple syrup, and a dash of Angostura. Have a lovely summer weekend, my friends.
And here we have a house favorite (for my daughter). Sunflower. Equal parts gin, Cointreau, St-Germaine, lemon juice.
This beauty is a Yellowjacket, another gem from Employees Only. Reposado tequila, St-German elderflower liqueur, Yellow Chartreuse, and a dash of Regan’s Orange Bitters. Exceedingly tasty, changed quite a bit over time.
This is a Negroni riff from Employees Only, the wonderful West Village bar. Equal parts Plymouth Gin, Amaro Meletti, Punt e Mes. Tasty.
For my daughter, a Reposado Paper Plane. This one’s a banger - Reposado, Aperol, St-Germaine Elderflower, lemon juice.
This one was mine. It’s a Division Bell - Mezcal, Aperol, Luxardo Maraschino, lime juice.
And changing the subject slightly, a 2016 Ridge Lytton Springs with dinner.
And, for my son, his regular request, a Paper Plane. Not shown: a Lion's Tail, which is a banger - and the only cocktail I'm aware of that mixes whiskey (bourbon in this case) with lime.
This is a Pear Martini - requested by my daughter. Grey Goose La Poire, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, lemon juice, simple syrup.
OK, let's talk cocktails this evening. Up first - and mine - is an Industry Sour. It's an assertive fellow - equal parts Green Chartreuse, Fernet-Branca, lime, and simple syrup.
First mint of the season. Old Cuban, Southside, and Whiskey Smash. Cheers, everyone. Enjoy the weekend.
Found an old bottle of Wigle Rye (Small cask, batch 7). Used it to whip up a Manhattan. Not bad. Cheers, friends.
