@angelaeagle1.bsky.social This is South East Water's response to water shortages for the elderly and vulnerable. If my mother could even lift them she would be unable to open them 🤬. Privatisation has been a disaster. It should be at the top of political agenda.
What a wonderful, gentle summer's day. Fluffy clouds, slight breeze, low 20s Celsius. So few of them this year it feels like a treat and a throwback 🌤
I'll try again, this time without my address clearly visible on her name tag!
Just in case there is anyone here still wondering if Long Covid is real, here is a message from a friend of 40-odd years. He is (was?) a GP who worked all through the pandemic including many visits to care homes. He has been battling illness since, and his family and I nearly lost him last week.
There is no plant so attractive to bees as my autumn fruiting raspberries. The flowers are very discreet (almost insignificant to us) but they are absolutely humming with bees.
I am so proud of these😊. Onions have long been my nemesis in the veg growing world. Don't know why but have never been able to grow very good bulb onions. Usually they just bolt, but not this year despite (or possibly because of) the heat and dry. Variety Rose de Roscoff (aka Keravel Pink)
You can turn AI off. Here's my results for that search. RHS is a pretty reliable first result.
My huge Camellia in full bloom, you can barely see the green 🩷. Carpet of pink to follow.
Always the right time to talk about Blondie. Parallel Lines was the first album I bought 🥰
Pictures of pets? Talk about engagement farming! I'm all in - Hazel's happy to be on the fiver
My absolute favourite bluebell display, Kings Wood near Chilham, along the North Downs Way.
For those of you who need some Setter love in your life. Mum, Ginny 9, is still looking after her daughter, Hazel 5.
Away for Xmas and got invited to a hunt yesterday by my accommodation's owners. Officially it was a "trail" hunt. I nearly went but only because my dog is at the peak of her season and I thought she might create chaos in the pack. I couldn't face small talk with the other pack (of cunts) though.
After a horrible week or so, my lovely girl, Ginny, now associates the light slowly fading in the afternoon with the imminent assault of fireworks. She has already gone to her safe space under the polytunnel bench and is shaking nervously.
I'm not birder. Can anyone enlighten me as to what birds these are? I watched it for ages. It's in southern England.
A favourite brewery and bar near to me has been forced to close today because Landlords are, almost invariably, tossers. Good luck and Thank You to Tony and everyone else who has worked so hard to try and make it work.
And incidentally, assuming your statistics are correct, most of the increase *was* under the Tories. Starmer did not take office 'til late 2024
