I find the logic of our library catalogue fascinating sometimes ....

A library catalogue search. The user has searched for 'Doomsday Book Somerset'. The first result is 'On Thermonuclear War' by Khan and Jones, followed by the Philimore edn of the Domesday Book for Somerset.

In Oban there are apparently only two genders, East and West

Love opening my news app to see that the ehrc thinks I don't have a right to privacy (normally taken as a usual part of the current social contract), but the social contract should be changed so I can't use most public facilities

Kirkpatrick said the watchdog hoped to provide “some appropriate guidance about how, respectfully, questions can be asked in the workplace or in services, and so on and so forth, in such a way as to respect privacy and dignity as far as is possible”.

Asked if this would not still imperil people’s privacy, Falkner said that rights under article 8 of the Human Rights Act, connected to privacy, would not apply in such a case.

Quizzed about how the changed rules about toilet use could be implemented, Falkner said it would primarily be about the “social contract”, adding: “We are not talking about people with badges coming along to enforce anything.”

Mum and Dad got me a new hillwalking raincoat for Xmas (tysm) and pointed out the colour seemed appropriate - which colour is amethyst and which is medieval??? The Dark Ages strike again??? Why???

These have the same chaotic energy as the Kelvingrove 'Haggis'

I know its silly to morn the passing of a Library Catalogue system, but I will genuinely miss SAULCAT when it gets decommissioned at Christmas. You were a good little Cat, even if your 'did you mean' function couldn't do its job for toffee.

Looking through some photos from some rolls of film that I thought were completely ruined by a mystery light leak in my camera, and ,,, they're not so bad. There's so much I could write about this water-font thing I came across on the Mill Glen above Tillicoultry in May's first flush of heat

A mossy stream tumbles down a steep bank close to the camera, fronds of grass and foliage overhanging its crevice. A broken cast iron(?) drinking fountain overtaken by rich moss sits to the left of the stream. A modern, bright pvc water pipe flows down into the upper bowl of the font.

Sycamore Gap April 2024
