This is the result of a concerted attack by right wing politicians, activists and media over the years, and the galling failure of our political leadership to adequately address the grave threat they pose.

Billionaires like Elon Musk amass huge amounts of power and wealth from their tech monopolies, and are allowed to use it to disrupt our democracies, and spread their hateful ideologies through their social media platforms, escalating violence.

If this government is at all serious about tackling the abhorrent racist violence we have seen over the past few days, it needs to take the threat of the far right, and the billionaire tech broligarchs fanning the flames of hatred far more seriously than it has to date.
