GM0JHE
@gm0jhe
Scottish Amateur Radio operator of no fixed ability. Currently not on the air, but pondering a comeback. This is an Amateur Radio account only (*). Celebrating abject failure since July 1986. (*with added jokes, pies, biscuits, and surrealism.)
As if Sigma 9's finest didn't have enough to contend with, there's a Radio Amateur on the Andrex-sized Ballot Paper.
For those still awake, check out Radio 3 at 01.51GMT. For those not awake, try BBC Sounds later. #AmateurRadio #HamRadio
Never a day goes by without at least one QGL chez GM0JHE, and after eight years off the air, a QSM or two wouldn't shock me, but just consider yourselves lucky that women only discuss women's troubles with other women, and certainly not over the airwaves. #RadCom #AmateurRadio
I appear to have passed the age at which Physics and Mathematics interest me. I was all equationed out after about 5 minutes. #RSGB #TonightAt8 #AmateurRadio #HamRadio
Yes, but in the mornings only. For 40m and below after the hours of darkness, you will need this.
When worlds collide. My 40 years in Amateur Radio have been dull, dull, dull, and a bit of a dance dis-aaaster, darling. Tess.
Well, erm, this is new. Does anyone know which date format this platform uses? Does anyone know what I was doing at 00.22 on either the 8th of June or the 6th of August 2021, because I wasn't on air in 2021, and definitely not on SSB at 00.22. Identity theft courtesy of QRZ.com.
That's crap. I had no idea that Kirk Brandon was still going. It's a pity that I didn't catch your reply on Friday, because I could have said that I had seen them in Leeds 44 years ago to the day; (Saturday) the 26th of September 1981. The festival was, I believe, the successor to Futurama.
After much detective work, it transpires that yesterday was the 40th anniversary of the day I joined the #RSGB. In those days, you could buy a wee white badge to show your loyalty. Nowadays, you can't even buy the gold badge for 50 years' membership, but at least you get a mention in RadCom.
I think I'll stick to Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, but that's a Friday thing while I'm not likely to be disturbed by a concert. The sepia tone is purely coincidental.
In honour of your journalistic debut, The RSGB appears to have coupled a couple (oops!) of your trains of thought, even if these ladies may be dairy cattle. Meet the members of the Bovine Radio Amateurs' Society (B.R.A.S.). As Joni Mitchell didn't say, I really don't know Cows at all. #cowabunka
On TPTV last night, there was an Ed Wood short followed by this. I was busy doing something else, but I'm considering recording them when they're repeated. They look awful. 😂😂
It's hard to believe that my last trip to both the NARSA Radio Rally and to Blackpool was on the 10th of April 2016. There are many reasons, not least of which is Avanti West Coast, the worst thing to happen to the railways since Richard Beeching.
