I’m going to post this every few days. This book is the best short book I’ve ever read on fascism. A perfect into for novices. A great aide-memoire for people who’ve read Arendt and others. When you know what to look out for you are better able to stop it. Read it.And act accordingly at voting time!
There is a cult of people who would hate if everybody read this short book. It’s perfectly written and laid out so logically it wins my new prize for “Easiest Book to Read on a Serious Subject” award. Get it. Read it. This book is great for anyone who feels they need a quick introduction to the darkness of it all.
I’m not sure who’d benefit most from reading these but I’d say let’s start with everyone and see how we get on. The middle book might take you a while but start with chapter 9 for now. The other two can be read in one sitting. All essential if we want to defeat the hard right in the coming years. 👇
Utterly spellbinding. I lived in Paris for 10 years in the ‘90s. I go back at least once a year. It still takes my breath away. I took this just walking from Saint Paul to Odeon one evening in March this year. I ❤️ Paris!!

Went up the the high street here in Finchley and had to walk through this pissed-up bunch of flag-shaggers. 09.30 on a Saturday morning. All men “of fighting age”. I think today is going to be a bad day for London and the UK.
Things aren’t as disastrous as we’ve been led to believe. Only about 25% of council seats were up for grabs. Labour remains the biggest influence on local politics. I also think the 5 Missions were a significant attempt to shift the dial away from tomorrow headlines towards something longer term.

I found this book to be a real eye opener on how the UK and the US has engaged with China down through the centuries. It even mentions the famous Kowtow dispute among many other lesser known events. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇
