Yet more reason why Kelsey Drive is a city planning disaster area. Not related to this accident in particular, but there are no traffic lights or crosswalks between Kiwanis and Messenger drive.
Hard to say would would be worse. Using ATV trails for a MTB race was not a good choice. Puddles grow from constant silt washout until they become kiddie pools. Then the trail widens more and more as ATVs route around the pool. I've seen holloways well over a metre deep from ATVs.
I should add it's next to probably the city's worst shopping area for pedestrians, Kelsey Drive. That whole area around Kenmount Road is one big pile of car dominated fail. #yyt #cardominated #safecity #fail
Parts of the city are not legally safe to cycle to, including Kenmount Terrace. It is completely cut off to bicyclists that aren't mountain or XC. It's not hard to see why, surrounded by undeveloped land, industrial park, the worst four lane stroad in the city and a high speed arterial.

YouTube runs awful AI Slop ads. Look at Prime Minister @mark-carney.bsky.social 's hand! I've flagged these ads a number of times and YouTube refuses to do anything about them.
