I am covering my new editions of the first three Animorphs books in contact paper for my classroom library just like my third and fourth grade teachers did all those years ago and I am so happy to get to share these books with my students.

This cat has been laying on my belly purring like mad for forty minutes and whacking my arm every time I stop providing scritches. Please, Gwen, I want to sleep. (Gwen is not the reason I cannot sleep but she is not helping)

I have started outlining in a new way, with blank cards divided up by acts and world building notes, and I am finding it helpful. It might be the physical act of writing, it might be being able to move the cards around, it might be the satisfaction of seeing a story's stack get fat with ideas.

I am making a "WIP jar" for those days that I can't decide what to work on, and I ended up with two strips leftover from all my trimmings. My mind is trying to convince me to come up with two MORE WIPs so I don't have leftover strips.

I told her I was posting about her and she retreated a bit. I wish she would retreat off the counter so I have less chance of squishing her accidentally.

CW: spiders A few weeks back, I had to rescue a small spider from my sink. She kept climbing into the drain basket to avoid me, but after like, 20 minutes, I got her. Today I am doing some cleaning and who do I find but my spider friend again. She is a very good roommate when not in the sink.
