Now that 5 years of OTJ Injury disability payment is completed, my regular insurance kicks in. I am going from 80% of my wage in 2020 to 66.2/3% of that same wage. I have missed out on 5 raises and two COLA increases. I've been pinched for the last 3 years and now I have no idea what to expect. I am not asking for money, I am just highlighting the very real issues of disability in Canada (and I have a "good "blue-collar" job and benefits). Imagine minimum wage and parenthood? Do we see how broken our systems are? It doesn't matter where you sit on the pole. If you are not 'them' you are me, one simple accident or body complication away.
