Governor Tim Walz
@governorwalz
Dad, husband, teacher, coach, veteran. Governor of Minnesota. Working to move our state forward as #OneMinnesota.
Inspired to see the resilience of the community in Ely as wildfires continue up north. Minnesota is eternally grateful to the first responders, volunteers, and emergency management officials working around the clock to manage these fires and get our neighbors the help they need.
We’re seeing the devastating effects of climate change in our forests right now. That’s why Minnesota is building the sustainable innovations of the future. Our new sustainable aviation fuel hub is reducing our carbon footprint, supporting our farmers, and creating jobs.
An honor to kick off round two of the 3M Open with Folds of Honor. Get out there this weekend to support a good cause and enjoy some world class golf.
Grateful to our National Guard for stepping up to help protect life and property up north. The state will spare no resource to help communities recover and rebuild from these devastating wildfires.
I convened the Executive Council today to ensure we are getting every available resource up north as wildfires continue to spread. State firefighters, first responders, and National Guard members are on the front lines now - and we will be there in the long road to recovery.
Growing older shouldn't mean giving up the freedoms you've enjoyed your whole life. Today we toasted to Minnesota’s new law allowing nursing homes to serve alcoholic beverages to residents - whether it’s birthdays, anniversaries, happy hours, or everyday moments together 🍻
The President of the United States is attacking a group of kindergarteners because of the clothes they wore to school.
Minnesota is mourning the loss of fishing hall of famer Tom Neustrom. I had the privilege of going out on Lake Winnibigoshish with Tom. I’ll always cherish that memory. Sending my love to his family and friends.
I’m proud to have joined Minnesotans in exercising our fundamental American freedoms - of speech, assembly, to disagree with our government. These rights are enshrined in our Constitution. And, they are what makes America great.
I will never stop exercising my constitutional rights to stand up for Minnesotans and the American freedoms we hold dear. My full statement on DOJ’s politically motivated investigation:
Great night to kick off the Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota!
Grateful to be with community today in historic Rondo. Happy Juneteenth, Minnesota!
Juneteenth is an opportunity to celebrate freedom, recognize the history and contributions of Black Americans, and stand firmly in building a more just and equitable society. We’re proud to hold it as an official state holiday and a long overdue celebration of independence.
We miss you, and think of you often. Session is wrapped. Spring is in bloom. I’m retiring soon. You two would have thrived in retirement. I trust you’re living it now. We have our arms wrapped around your kids. They’re remarkable. We love them.
Scout’s cousin, Tippy, crossed the Rainbow Bridge last night. She was the best girl. Keep chasing those squirrels, Tippy!
Melissa and Mark remind us that public service is not just for elected officials—it’s for all of us. I have proclaimed June as Public Service Month and encourage all Minnesotans to do an act of service in their honor.
Again and again, Trump continues to pardon fraudsters and let corrupt politicians out of prison.
This past year, gun violence has taken too much from Minnesota. On Gun Violence Awareness Day, we honor everyone we've lost, and we keep fighting to make sure fewer families have to grieve.
Construction is underway at the Kellogg/3rd Street Bridge thanks to millions in bonding investments. Today, I signed a bipartisan $1.2 billion bonding bill, capping off eight years of investments in infrastructure, jobs, and communities that keep Minnesota moving forward.
Happy anniversary Gwen! 32 wonderful years of walking together!
In Minnesota, we protect the lives and liberties of all our neighbors - including your right to love who you love. Happy Pride Month!
Proud to sign another bill boosting pensions for those that dedicate their careers to serving Minnesotans. Pensions are about keeping promises - promises to the teachers, first responders, 911 operators, and public employees that the state has their back.
